It is a big relief! For 2 reasons: dd and I are camping up in Norfolk at the end of May + I have a day trip to France in early June and need to be at work by 5.40 am. I'm proud of dh taking himself to the dealer, trying the car out and sorting the whole shebang by himself.
I had a long-awaited dr appt (only long-awaited cos I kept thinking 'it'll get better soon' and then cos I wanted to see a specific dr) this eve about my knee. The knee that stopped me running back in Oct and has been more or less hurty ever since. Anyhow, it is what I thought: arthritis of the knee, or degenerative knee disease . The dr didn't reckon my weight was a factor in it, but I do, and I know that losing a couple of stone would benefit my body in a myriad of ways.
Step 1 - cut right back on the sugar.
Step 2 - keep doing my kettlebell workouts.
Step 3 - drino even more water.
Step 4 - keep walking as much as possible.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
My working week is finished. Yay.
Am enjoying the weather - probably knowing that it will soon stop is helping me appreciate it more.
Am looking forward to a day off tomorrow. And dh will be out for several hours.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
We have our new car. Yay! And dd even approves - result!
I have had quite a lazy day: school runs, chat with dh, zcut workout #2, washing, reading, making elephants, prepping food for tomorrow (leaving at 5.20am, being fed lunch, getting home around 9pm)...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I have already told dd that I am probably not going to church on Sunday! Although having the car does change things somewhat - turns a 50+ min journey into about 20... I'll see what time I get home, and how I feel.
Dd and I are going camping at the end of May. Dh will be around, but he's in charge of the site safety and will be sleeping in a proper bed - not that he'll get much sleep if last time is anything to go by.... So, in effect, he's not there! Having a car now makes the time feel cope-able with - I reckon we could sleep in the car if we needed to :rotfl:.
In money news, having paid out for the car, we shall now be paying interest on about £3K of the mortgage. Grrr.
On the other hand, just £2k more off the mortgage takes us in to the teens...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well, I've 'done' Manchester. Left the house at 5.25am and was back home by 6.30pm as the whole shebang finished 90 mins early. Not a wildly inspirational day, but I'll admit to learning some useful bits and bobs. So, 4.5 hours in the meeting (including 1 hour for lunch?!) And 8.5hours travelling. I am living the high life indeed.
The meeting venue was totally rubbish on the gf side, but the meeting chap I spoke to has a gf girlfriend so he totally understood me and will be complaining to the hotal on my behalf. Yay. I ask you, is it unreasonable to expect the h1lt0n brand of hotel to at least have gf snack/biscuits in their kitchen? Or am I asking too much of them... Sigh.
However, I had nice seats on every train, met some great people, finished my book and made a glove elephant.
And now I am ready for bed,and have ensured that the 5am alarm is switched off!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
