I have wondered if I could get the specs cheaper by using an online service, but I seem to have 'fussy eyes' (my name for them, not the optician's!) and often need to go back in to get them re-fitted, bent a bit... I can't wear contacts due to going all nauseous if the alignment was slightly off - most people can cope with a 'best fit' approach. Not me! I have toyed with the idea of having 2 pairs of glasses - one for reading and the other for distance, but this doesn't seem practical. Might be worth getting some cheap specs to try that with...? However, no spare cash as yet to do that!

One more week of at-home bliss, then the number of commitments starts to crank up. The one weekend between now and June with nothing allocated to it yet - and therefore prob the only one I can go and visit mum properly - is the one where big sis is mumbling about coming down here. Oops. I may have to do a flying Thurs eve - Fri visit. I can feel the manic-ness and stress building up already as I try to fit it all in...

So before I let the anxiety start, I shall remind myself that I have 1 week of not very much ahead that need to be enjoyed!

Dd and I were out for 5 hours and her performance lasted 2m45. Yikes. But it went well and she was happy.

We have finally realised that if we don't get away from church by a certain time, then we hit a lull in the first set of buses and a large gap when we change, meaning that it can take us 90+ mins to get home, as opposed to about 50 mins to get there.

This afternoon I have worked out my expenses (which show that it wasn't me using up all my money recently!), bought my train ticket for a jolly up in Manchester (means getting up and out by 5.45am at the latest, ugh), and cleaned, dusted, sorted and tidied the top of my chest of drawers. Dd joined in by sorting out some of her gubbins, which was a bonus.

We are up to nearly 2 full Sally Army re-bag bags.

Tomorrow we are off out on a playdate. Lovely friend is collecting us. And us going there means that we don't need to clear enough space for extra bodies here. At least, not until weds...

Glasses are one of those thing that you really do get what you pay for. I'd say the optician is worth forking out for. I'd go nuts if I couldn't live in contacts!

Sounds like some busy times coming up, hopefully they are fun commitments?

Hmm, not quite what I'd usually class as fun...

Lots of it is exam board marking (from April through to early July!), plus meetings a loooong way away for standardisation. With various deadlines along the way. Add in getting my own pupils' speaking tests completed properly. Internal exams happen at work the week before the half term. Plus the bible weekend+ at the start of half term where I'm helping with the kids work - another sat meeting beforehand. Plus dd's ongoing usual dance classes as they prepare for this year's show mid-june. And the necessary dress rehearsal. Add in step dd1 from canada and step dd2 from Oz, both in june. And my bday in may. I also want/need to go and see mum a couple of times...

And that's just what I can remember without looking at the calendar!

Bet you wish you'd not mentioned it now!!

I have done myself a hand-drawn and colour-coordinated month-to-view calender (well, I scribbled something like that on the train a week ago!) To reduce the panic, as it really isn't all happening at once and needs approaching steadily, logically and calmly... :rotfl:

    Do just one thing.
    Do it well.
    Move on.

Got zcut kettlebell #10 done and then did another 5 min KB workout. I am thoroughly loving the KBs! I am also thoroughly wobbly after the workouts!

Took dd out to drop off 2 Sally Army bags and she found a Syl families house for £20 there. I paid with credit gained from dropping bags off, so I still have my nsd! And they gave/lent us a blue ikea bag as that was the only thing large enough to hold it. We did get some odd looks on the buses home...

Dd now has to try to get it to fit in her bedroom - a challenge indeed.

Dd went through the huge bag of clothes given to us yesterday and has selected what she wants. Some other friends are round tomorrow so we'll let them have a rootle and see if they want anything. And by the end of the week, it should all be gone.

Still a huge amount of clearing and sorting to do. But dh is joining intoo. And he'll happily carry the bags to the bus stop for me so that I can get them to the ch shops!

Enough wittering. The floor needs a good sweep so I might as well get it done. Hark at me! Talking as if housework is a common occurence...

The floor did get swept -and the amount of muck collected showed that it was worth doing!

We had a lovely time with the friends. Their boy has numerous issues but they all played wonderfully and he seemed to enjoy himself. Result.

This morning I did an early workout - zcut #11 for 15 mins (4 rounds and down to some squat and twists, if it matters) followed by 3 minutes of KB swings = 111. Then, and only then, did the muscle in my neck/shoulder start to hurt. Quite a lot. I tried to stretch it out but it was having none of it. Oops.

Allthat it changed today was that I only took 1 bagful to the Sally Army, not the planned 2. Dd and I went to a different store, and went to the huge 24hr tesc0 whilst there, to look at their gf/df range. Blimmin' pathetic, it was. No need to make a special trip there again.

We came home for lunch , then felt the lure of the library so trotted out again. Via aldee. Who have their fat pack slabs of bacon back in store. Yay! :j

Tomorrow we are out again. My glasses are ready for collection -a week earlier than expected. Dh is going that way, to do the PA for a funeral service at church, so we may try to leave when he does.

Dd dug out her old syl fam magazines this afternoon, and has used a pattern they gave to make an AWESOME dress for one of them. It is so beautiful.

I have my new glasses. Will start wearing them tomorrow.

Also bought some more wilk0 coir compost, 6 (!) tomato plants off the market, hanging basket liners and garden (growing)bags from the £ shop. And the w0rks were clearing stock and we got oil paints + a mini wooden model + a sats book for dd,and a notebook for me. Total spend of about £23.

Off to mix up the coir with water and then get planting.

    I love bonfires.:D But I now stink a little...:o

Have had a lovely day. Dd opted out of going to dance so we walked up to sainz and back again (doing a few errands on the eay, of course) and it was so good to stretch our legs. And be out in the sunshine.

I have sewed up part of dgs' cardi and am relieved that the drumstick knitting has worked ok. I also cut out the parts to make 2 more robin doorstops, most of the parts for a moose, and made a pattern for an elephant. :T

Also got a workout done - no jumping (knee) and no kettlebell (neck/shoulder). So I did 12x 45/15secs of squat; foreward and backward lunge L; squat; R; squat; side lunge. I was a sweaty mess by the end - all good.

I have worn my new glasses today and we get along just fine. :j Phew.

Dh has bought a car. :T Well done him. All very painless and simple. Though we don't yet have it, as they are going to service it first. Then we need insurance... And so it starts.

The workout I did the other day left me with such sore leg muscles. But at least it didn't hurt my neck muscles at all. So today I felt recovered enough to do ZCUT #12. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Did 15 mins = 2 rounds and down to 6 clean + press + rev lunge.

The lounge curtains and their fleece linings have been washed. They are in shock.

I am loving my elephant pattern. Making it in fleece is so quick and simple.

Dh and I have sat down to map out the next 3 months - I don't think we have ever looked that far ahead in such detail. We both have a super busy few months.

But at least we have a car!:D ish...
