Today, dd and I went to visit a school. A wonderful school. A local school. A very expensive school. In fact, we don't earn enough to even pay for 1 year's fees there!

However, they do means tested bursaries. And I was fortunate enough to have a frank and open chat with the Head about it. Dd would just need to do super well in the entrance test.

The other local school that dd likes is the polar opposite.

But we still have another year before we have to decide/apply.

My cold - the one that laid me up in bed 2 weeks ago - is still loitering with intent, trying to get me. I think it is being aided and abetted by a 'kind deed' that I am doing for dd's school. Namely, emptying the overflowing lost property box and taking the contents to the ch shop. Said contents all need a wash as they are rather musty. I do not cope well with musty. It makes me sneeze vehemently, which in turn hurts my throat and chest, which in turn makes the cold think it has a right to return.

I am knitting myself a hat with some gorgeous wool that a friend gave me last Cmas. It is 94% merino wool and so lovely and chunky. Even better, said friend dropped dh home today and dropped in - and complimented me on the choice of wool I was using. We had a giggle as I told her the source of it...

I have added some more vegan recipes to my niece's recipe book for her bday. Don't think I have (m)any more to add.

I have spent a good part of today laying on the sofa. Again. Yesterday's trip to France went without incident, we had good weather and the pupils were great. I was home only half an hoir later than first planned. But not sleeping well the night before and then getting up ay 4.30 resulted in today's headache and horizontalness.

However, a lazy day, snoozes and dh making me lunch have all helped. I am so glad that I don't work on a Tuesday!

Just doing the school run and brownie run = 10K steps. Not bad.

Finished off 6 bunnies- yay! And have cut out 4 more. I regularly forget just how long they take to cut out, espcially when I use different fabrics for different bits. That was about all I managed today!

Went to watch dd's class assembly this morning. It was rather brilliant! And when I got home from work, there was dd on th sofa, with her foot up, having twistd it at lunchtime. She still managed to do PE (football mini matches) and badminton club though... but it has really started to ache tonight. We'll see how she goes in the morning. If it had fallen off, then we may allow her to stay home...

I keep forgetting - then remembering - that I have to be at a VI form info eve tomorrow. So I'll go in to work, come back to pick up dd from tae kwon do (assuming that she has all her limbs still), drop her home and go back to work for the evening, getting home around 10pm. I am very glad that I decided NOT to go to bham on friday.

And my tooth fell out this morning, having been loose for a couple of days. It was the best timing that it could have chosen as talking to parents with a missing tooth woud have been weird (it's the tooth next to my front middle ones - rather obvious). Anyhoo, the dentist slotted me in and with a little cementing magic, it is back in place.

I have officialy given up/ renounced/ packed in my latest 'Plan' as I wasn't interested in it. I've done 3x 12 weekers, starting last Cmas day, and it has done me the world of good. I think the wealth bit is now ingrained (ish) - always a dangerous comment to make. My health is ongoing and so is the life well-lived bit.

Therefore, I was playing around with ideas the other day, and have come up with:

    Plan Active I
    -from Oct 12th - Jan 4th, 12 weeks.
    -do something active every day
-sort out R knee, R hip flexor, R shoulder and R big toe (!)
-if I average 12k steps per day, that will make 1,008,000 by the end

    And that is it.

Yesterday I ran part of the way home from work - only about 1.6 miles. And walked a lot. Today I did 10 3k DB squat + floor touch to bicep curl to overhead press, plus 10 DB squat.

I also cut out 6 reindeer and 8 gingerbread men to take to dance tomorrow.

Dh did a dainz shop to use a 6 off 40 coupon and it was 40.90 originally, so well done him. All of it was food for dd :D.

I plan to go for a little run in the morning...

I did my run, about 25 mins, so am pleased with that.

Did a little sewing at dance but spent half my time there in the local ch shops. Got myself some work trousers for £1, 8x sylvanian characters for dd for £4.50 for Cmas, 5x books for £1 and 1 is for dh called The Grump!, some postits in the shape of my niece's initial for her bday and an illusion science kit for £3 for dd for Cmas. Approx £10 spent and all worth it.

Still wading through the huuuge pile of washing that I have acquired after offering to empty the overflowing lost property box at dd's school and take it to the ch shops. It has been at least 5 loads so far and looks like we've hardly made a dent in it. Doesn't help that the drying time has increased now that we are in autumn... We had to put the heating on for an hour today to be able to dry off the latest load and then be able to hang up our own whites stuff.

We had to pay interest on the mortgage last month. Shock. 57p. :rotfl:That'll teach us to go removing money from the offset and investing it...

I’m pleased you feel like your good habits are engrained. That’s the hardest bit! Good luck with your new plan and sorting out your health niggles.

I think that the habits are second nature now, though I realise how easy it is to slip into bad habits again...

Dd gave me a shock whilst I was bringing in the washing. She'd been hanging upside down on her twizzle swing - part of her TP climbing frame - which she does regularly, having got so good that she doesn't use her hands on the ground to stabilise herself any more. I think she was reaching up to get her dolls off one of the platforms, when I heard a 'whoomp' as she hit the floor. On her back and head, poor thing.

Anyhow, she seems fine - it's just another thing to add to this past week's list of woes for her!

Cooked up a panful of vegan red lentil dhal this morning, which will do my work lunches this week and maybe my breakfasts too. Dh has decreed that we will be having the aldee sweet chili sausages tomorrow. They will do us 2 meals. There is also chicken korma which I plan to bulk out with a tin of pulses, and 3 baked potatoes.

The freezer drawers are tightly packed as icyland had smilie faces and potato letters on offer - they've upped the price by 19p to £1.19, but you could still get 2 packs for £1. So I came home with 4, of course.

Today's extra action was 10 slow deep squats + 10 kneeling press ups. I'll not be entering any body sculpting competitions just yet...

Yesterday's activeness was brisk walking everywhere.

Today I ran part of the way home from seeing my counsellor - all the uphill bits. And did 75 12k KB swings. Total steps:17,500.

2 more work days until the half term break. And p l e n t y to do in those 2 days!
