Thank you earthgirl and greent for your lovely words.
I am finished for the Easter hols. Phew.
I have joined the NST April challenge.
April consists of only 5 working days for me; so 25 days not at work. Sounds good! Though I know it will mean that getting my steps in and eating well will be tough targets... However, if I really mean that I want to lose weight, then I have to ensure I follow through and do what I know I have to do.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd has finished term and is already chilling out.
Plans for when I go up to mum's have changed again. I am now going on the original day and will therefore be around to give big sis some help / moral support with mum. Once mum is in the home, big sis will scoot home for a few days and dh and dd will travel up. I have no idea how much support/visits mum will need in her first few days, but I hope that I'll be able to see more of dd and dh than if she were still in her house, as was going to be the case originally. We'll stay until fri eve or sat morning, as dh would like us to be home for Easter.
What makes me feel guilty is that this year, I have 'messed up' St Valentine's day, mother's day and now possibly Easter for dd, by only seeing her for part of those days due to travelling back from mum's. However, I do recognise that it has been for a very good purpose indeed.
I swallowed a frog today and now have an initial counselling appt for next tues morning.
I have also let the pta at dd's sch know that I'll not be doing any more fairs there.
So... April. Planning to keep on with the good habits - headspace, walking... Maybe throw a few bodyrock/zuzka light workouts in there, swim with dd, run.
Simplifying life would be a good achievement. I guess that'll come about once mum is settled. Or at least it'll have more of a chance of happening then! I think it was on greying pilgrim's thread that I read about how a 'meal' used to be egg or beans or cheese on toast, not as big and hefty and complicated as many meals now are. Food (:rotfl:) for thought...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
April challenge:
Aim: 16 NSDs, strengthen my shoulders (instead of constantly having to be careful), headspace 3x per week, exercise 3x per week, read, 12k steps daily average.
Plan: budget not only this month, but annual stuff too - check have done this. Plan all events/outings/trips/etc for the month.
Rest: ties in with wanting to simplify life, also for me it helps to exercise more.
Invite: will be spending time with big sis up at mum's, and have the hols to dedicate to dd and dh. Will get some playdates arranged for dd, so that I see some friends too.
Love your garden: yep, defo need to do this. I didn't cut back anything last year so the rasps are sprouting on old stems, the apple trees are a bit sprawling.
Plenty to focus on, as well as my ongoing 12-week plan!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

A relaxing start to the day. Dd is rather pale and wan so we have skipped church. She is currently playing with my old stash of lego and has surprised herself at how much fun it can be. Her school Easter hols project is to draw/make a Taj Mahal to end their current geography project. She has made the most cute miniest version ever!
I've done a bodyrock workout entitled Fitnes is sexy: 25x 5/25 secs of low jack; bicycle; dancing crab; ninja jump tuck. Ooph.
Plans for the rest of the day may involve doing 'stuff' in the garden. I splashed out £1.99 on some tomato plants from aldee, so need to plant them on. The grass needs another cut - once it has had a chance to dry out a little. And some weeds need sorting out.
Dh is off to do PA for a church event this afternoon so we'll not see much of him as he'll be gone by 1 and prob not back before 6.
Yesterday, I cooked up the last slab of salmon that I snaffled from dad's, so that'll feed us for a few meals.
Off to read my book while I have peace and quiet to do so.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Not only has the grass all been mowed and the tomato plants up-planted, but I have also tackled the ironing and used wonderfulwebby stuff to shorten some trousers. That's enough for now, the Avengers is on. Perfick.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Creamy spicy BNS soup all made. Yum! The squash got roasted last night alongside the salmon slab., so along with onion, carrot, garam masala, stock cube, water and creamed coconut, it makes one scrummy concoction.
And the salmon is currently steaming away with zapped cauli and broc and will have some gk-style yog stirred in at serving time.
Twas GP who started me contemplating soup, with her tongue in cheek mention of April being a soup month. Thanks GP!

Week 2/12:
Health: hands still dodgy and weak but toes much better; some headspace done; plenty of walking; started on my workouts; being on the Easter break is good for my mind; talked to big sis tonight re my visit up there - we have a plan.... Squats done.
Wealth: payday arrived and was a bit more than expected - it may be because they sorted out my tax, but we'll have to wait for next month to see if I still get the higher figure. Anyhow, it went straight off the mortgage! Usual spends, nowt over-the-top. Must claim some money back. Made all of £10 at dd's sch fair and have let the pta know that it was my last one.
Life well-lived: today's gardening was therapeutic as it looks much better with shorn grass; and today's talk with big sis was also very good to have; plenty of reading; a lovely w/end with dd, knowing we have a further 2 weeks ahead of us.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
