We have decided to go with the offer. It is an exceptionally good one that we would very much like to accept!

On a Tuesday, I have taken to running part of the way home from work. So, 10 mins running + 15-20 mins on the bus + 30 mins running. However, today I decided to take the other route (turning left out of work instead of right - reminds me of Ab Fab in France!), planning to do a longer run, short bus, shortish run. On the way down the hill at the end of the first leg, I saw a bus go. The other bus I can catch comes 2 mins after, then there is a 15 min gap. I knew that I probably wouldn't get the other bus (and I was right - saw it go before I would have been anywhere near the stop), so turned off and ran through the park and woods, which is my favourite part of running. All in all, I was 'running' for an hour! :T (Although it does rather feel like my body will seize up at any point now...)

  • From 28th Feb we can no longer get gluten-free food items on prescription for dd. So one last bread request - saving us £36 - will go in tomorrow. We do not have the freezer space for it, as the usual order fills nearly 2 of the 2 and a half drawers. I have told dh that he and I shall eat as much as poss out of the freezer in the next few days, defrost it, and hope to squish in as much bread as possible!

The house saga continues. The EA was unable to contact the original offerer, and in the meantime offer 2 was received and was 2k higher and then offer 3 was another 8k higher than offer 2. So, 3 different bidders, it seems, want that particular pile of bricks.

I guess that'll mean multiple trips to East Africa for mum :rotfl:!

Bunny making is progressing. 10 now have legs attached, so just need arms attaching, then noses and eyes. And hats. Then there will only be 4 big ones to reassemble.

A good visit to Icyland today to spend £15 and therefore qualify for a free £5 soon. Armed with a list, I got 2x 12 eggs (same price as aldee), kitchen roll (great quality), a block of cheese (cheaper per kilo than aldee), pombears on offer (so 14 packs for £3) snickers on offer (20 for £3, smaller than usual, but still cheaper) and chewits. I am very happy with the shop!

Think I need to re-read the Contented Dementia book that a friend loaned me. She'd like it back soon, so I'll have to be quick.

Everything is sooooo crossed that walking is rather tricky!

That's not going to help with running home after work!:rotfl:

Great news that there's a 3rd person interested :) And Icyland deals sound great - I may have to look in there when next in town (ours is in the town centre)

Is the GF bread no longer available on prescription due to cost cutting measures by NHS trust? :(

You are right, greent - no more gf bread due to cost cutting. There was a 'consultation period' but by then, we knew it had already been decided. Out of the millions that need to be cut, this only accounts for a few thousand. Sigh.

The EA is going to 'best offers' at which point it'll come down to who has the cash NOW,even if their offer is not the highest.

Running home cross-legged... now at least that would provide a good excuse for my slowness of pace...

Work is done for the week. Phew. I got absolutely drenched this morning and was very glad for the trousers I had left at work on Tuesday. And socks and shoes. Though the socks and shoes were still prety damp for the trip home, but once my feet had warmed up, I hardly even noticed the squelching...

Big sis texted to say that the shed roof at dad's blew off in the winds. Lovely neighbours collected it for us. Turns out it is an asbestos one, so we'll need to pay to sort that out.

Then the EA contacted her to say that she had smelled gas in the kitchen, so off big sis trotted to meet the gas man, with lovely neighbours keeping an eye out for if he arrived first. The boiler is condemned, and gas switched off at the mains. Not surprised, but v glad it limped on to heat the house when we were clearing it.

So big sis had to leave mum, deal with all this, then head back to deal with mum. I feel for her.

And me, I have had a lovely day, in stark comparison. Took a bag to the SA and looked around the ch shops. Found jamas, a book and white jeans for dd - she can decorate and draw on the jeans. And leather gloves and leather walking boots (made in Italy, soft leather) for me. Then I sat in sbux with a kiddies hot choc and read some more Contented Dementia before heading home. 4 more bunnies now have legs attached - dd wants me to make more of the He110 K1tty ones - and 9 small ones have hats.

Tomorrow we are off to dance, then dd wants to look around the ch shops. I have investigated a food place that offers a range of gf food, so we shall lunch there. And while dd dances, I may well go for a run around the park - but will need a change of clothes and summat to wash and dry with, else I'll pong a bit...

Feb 28th is fast aproaching. Shrove Tuesday. The start of a period of fasting/abstinence in the lead up to Easter, Lent, which is 47 days long.

Usually, I try to take on a new habit, although I tend to be rather half-hearted about it, especially nearer the end.

This year, my 12-week plan is a good focus for me, with the weekly updates. It is going well, given the muddle of certain areas of life at the moment. The one area that is not being addressed is the amount of squidge and blubber that I am carrying around on my person.

I am considering several things: giving up playing all games on my tablet (inspired my x_raphael_x on the NST thread) which would free up time and energy; stopping eating between meals and start getting 7 veg a day, which would seriously help with the blubber issue; committing to swimming 1x per week, running 2x, continuing the step count...

It would require a change of mindset and commitment...

Sorry for the blethering - just wanted to get a few thoughts down before getting up.

I really ought to give up games too....
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
