Dd has a rotten cold, poor thing. She managed tap and freestyle but not ballet. Not having a car doesn't help when she is off colour. So she is now fed and dosed up, on her tablet getting rested before this afternoon's party.
I am suffering from my workout! Every time I sit, it hurts. Every time I stand, it hurts. When I go up or down the stairs, it hurts! All self-inflicted, so no sympathy required.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Poor dd did not enjoy the party. She was feeling rotten and everything bothered her, poor thing. So, is she asleep yet? Heck, no!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Dd and I have skipped church. It was pelting down with rain and blowing about a lot, so I wasn't going to take her out in it for an hour just to get there. A day in seems to be doing her some good.
I'm also under the weather, running a bit of a temperature. But I wanted to make the most of being at home so have made a gingery garlicky sweet potato soup and savoury oaty flapjack bites for me, and choc biscuits for dd. And done 3 lots of washing up and a wash too. Not too shabby.
Paid some extra off the mortgage yesterday, which was a good feeling.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Yay for the refunds :T
Sounds like you're doing really well at the moment, Apple, given how full on everything is! Well done for carving out some time for calm & recuperation. Thank you greent and pearla. Dd and I are slowly mending. She needs tissues to hand and I need to move my head s l o w l y, as I felt quite nauseous and off balance this morning.
Tomorrow I am off to visit a solicitor to get some certified copies of dad's will and if I have time, I'll put the cheques in the bank. Then once they are cleared, off the mortgage they will go.
I did finally look into the FD 5% saver, but you need a sole account with them to get it. I only have a joint acct, so can't apply.
Current interest on the mortgage amounts to 1p per month. Not bad, eh?
Off to read my book.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
So, certified copies of wills are apparently not necessary. We can just make copies, and ensure the original is super safe (ie don't let mum even get a sniff of it!).
Cheques all paid in. 4 large avocados bought off the street trader for £3. They aren't ripe yet, so something to look forward to.
16k steps done, even without my 'usual' run home. I didn't do it today because I needed to go to see the solicitor, and because I usually bring the stuff I leave at work on a tues home on a thurs. And this thurs, I have leave of absence as dd has an eye appointment at a distant hospital. If I'd gone to work, I would have been able to spend all of 20 mins there before having to leave to get dd!
Got a decent chat in with big sis. Decent only in the sense that we were able to cover business stuff without interruption, but we were not able to do a proper catch up. However, it is an improvement on other calls. I am very grateful for mail and text communication.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I totally forgotmy weekly summary...
Week 10/12
Health: good session with the counsellor; plenty of walking and moving; much reading and quiet thinking time.
Wealth: 2 rebate/refund cheques totalling £200 - happy!; dh has enough to sort out his tax and then we can move the remainder around; no chanc of a 5% saver with FD for me, but now I know.
Life well lived: finished bunnies, just have som flannel (washcloth) chicks and bunnies to make; reading, quiet times, stretches, headspace all happening well.
Just 10 days left of this challenge... Will have to ponder another one...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Got drenched on the way to the shops - it most definitely was not the forecast 0.2mm...
Sainz had everything I wanted. £9 for 3 loaves of gf bread (yikes), £3.60 for gf chicken nuggets, £2.50 for vanilla swedish glace and £2.50 for gf df puff pastry. A lot of pennies for few items...
Aldee also had what I wanted - cashew, brazil, walnut, 2x 85% choc bars and their raw fruit bars.
Tomorrow, dd and I are off on an adventure - only to an eye hospital unfortunately, to get something the optician noticed checked out. The tram part of the journey alone takes us almost the whole length of the line. I am allowing 2 hours to get there. They say the appointment may take up to three hours, so I'd best pack a shopful of food for us plus things to do - especially if you have had drops in your eyes and your vision is blurry.
Hmm, as it may be a late return, I'd better pack for mum's before we go...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
