Dd usually gets stuff from ch shops, or handed down from other people. She was abnormally excited to be allowed to have brand new clothes. Oops! Although it took a while, she was really sensible and rejected some things she originally thought she'd like. I'm very blessed with her
.
Bday card sent to mum for tomorrow, and dh organised flowers. Will take a huge box of chocs with me on fri.
A good day at work, plenty of walking done to and from and around the place, and some fun times with y10.
Dh is out for the evening - nowt exciting, just a PA meeting 8-10pm. Then he has to catch the bus home...so I hope we are asleep by the time he gets home.
The rain has arrived. Wish it were snow... Dsd has a forecast of 33cm of snow due soon. We are so jealous.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Also jealous! We have very cold rain here too. And my facebook memories today said it was (another) snow day 8 years ago - haven't had any snow days for years nowMy youngest has only seen the merest hint of snow (the sort that is just a sprinkling over the garden and just looks like a heavy frost)

Dsd is in the Canadian Rockies, so awesome views and fantastic snow are a given. So much so that they don't really build snowmen or have snowball fights or make igloos! Dd had snow - a proper snowfall, blizzard-like - last month for her birthday, so was happy with that.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Another day at work done.
Another run part of the way home done. At the mo, I do about 1 mile, then catch a bus for around 15 mins, then run the last 'bit' of about 2.5 miles. Rough guesstimates. One day I'll use my garmin and do it properly... Also one day, I'll be able to run the whole way home (5-6 miles), but that will be a totally different route apart from the last 2 miles...
Garnered myself 20k steps too :T.
And despite all the GPs in our borough now not prescribing gf foods, we got dd's bread prescription with no quibbles. 12 loaves = £36 we do not have to spend.

Not much to write about today - though, when does that ever stop me wittering on...
A quick shop in sainz and aldee, coming to around £16. Both charity shops weren't open, so potential savings made there.
I finished off the faces on the bunny creme egg cosies and stitched up the remaining chick cosies and made 1 more knitted chick (so that I have a round dozen - having 11 was bugging me!) = 17 items finished.
My packing list is sort of done. Have chatted with both mum and big sis. Will pack tomorrow.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Have brought my running kit to mum's, aspiring to use it at least twice... Will need a bit of planning plus discreet use of the washing machine, as I've not brought many clothes...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Not a good night for dreams and waking up. (I think mum was up a couple of times). But I have woken up to some snow! Gorgeous!
I did the necessary paperwork for my exam board marking the other day. Dd was doubtful aboutme having the time to do it, but I pointed out that it would pay for us to have a week away together. She then got very excited about going to Cullercoats!!! Although I can see it ending up as a week at my sister's while she + her hubby go away, doing 'mum duty'. In fact, we have no idea if mum will even be housed by then...
Saw a lovely care home yesterday, it would suit mum to a tee. But mum has no intention of leaving here, needs no help, is staying in her own home... Sigh.
Ok, it is nearly 8 o'clock and all is quiet. I set my alarm for 7.15, so as to have some quiet first thing. We are off to the church coffee morning at about 10, staying until they kick us out!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Warning:not a cheering post. At all.
How on earth is my sister still sane. Yesterday was complete and utter miserableness, racking sobs, negativity, and nothing that I said or did was of any use. Mum was quite rude and nasty to some of her friends who came to visit. I know that it's the dementia talking, and that pointing it out or correcting her is not the way to do it (so I didn't!). She is scared and doesn't cope.
Today has, thankfully, been much better. I realised at church that mum can sit still for an hour (albeit with some stand/ sit/ say aloud stuff). A lovely friend came round this afternoon and was a great calming influence and apart from a conversation after tea that triggered distress - my fault for not spotting it coming and distracting from it - it has gone quite well. Hope that doesn't sound too smug.
Sorry to write this out, but it has helped me.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
