I think I am getting used to all the walking I am doing (18k today), and travelling by bus can be relaxing. I don't join the 'must be listening to/watching something or texting' brigade so I just get to sit there!
Y11 parents evening all done and dusted. Wandered into town as I finished at 2.35 and the evening started at 5. I ventured in to primarni - boy was it roasting in there - and came out with just some work socks for me and some vests for dd. A grand total of £5. Nowhere had any malory towers books, but it all helped to up the step total.
Tomorrow I do need to nip to aldee. Other than that, I'd love to have a day sewing. And perusing pinterest maybe...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dh has stopped the dripping roof again - by emptying the container in the loft that catches the water. Should really get it properly sorted. But I think we are both incapable of doing stuff to the house at the mo. One day...
I did have a fairly crafty day. 11 chicks got beaks and are now complete. Dd has givenme permission to make another one, to have a round dozen, kind soul that she is.
3 more bunnies got cut out. And then I remembered the box (albeit a small box) of dismembered bunny bits, so used some of those, along with cutting out new bits, to assemble the parts for another 6 bunnies. Result.
Annnnd, I started on the felt bunny creme egg cosies - 2 styles - and they are awesome, if I may say so. I shall probably save sewing them up for when I'm at mum's as they are flat and easy to transport.
Dh has suggested we get mum's car started and bring it down here for us to use for a bit. Not sure what I think, but it is certainly worth considering. It is a Y reg (or maybe a W) 5 door automatic Corsa.
Dh is supposed to take dd to dance tomorrow but he is wiped out - not sure why - so muggins here may have to do it. Whether I do or not, I am hoping to get a run done. If I go, I'll just run round the park near her dance lessons; otherwise I'll get to go in the woods and up and down some hills - much muddier and much more fun...
Did an Icyland shop today, as part of their promotion (2x £15 spend = free £5), and spent £15.04. Not bad.
Cooked up a load of drumsticks tonight, to use for my lunches, inveterate carnivore that I am.
Enough wittering on. Dh is nearly snoring and dd is quiet so I am hoping that she'll fall asleep soon and not need to come in here...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Fab work on all the crafty bits n pieces apple :T
Car sounds like a possibility - if it's easy to start and has MOT on it the cost would be insurance and tax - would guess insurance would be quite cheap?
Hope DH has some more energy today. Enjoy your in - wherever you end up doing it

Dh took dd to dance, which gave me a chance to go for a muddy run in the rain. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and didn't fall over once. Result.
Dd arrived home all pale and wiped out, so I reckon she'll want to stay home tomorrow.
Dh has tweaked his back, which isn't good. We'll see how it develops through the day.
Well, the 6 nations are about to start and I am sat here with my felt bunny cosies to sew up. I opted not to leave them until next weekend, so I'll need a new project for then...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

The car currently does not work at all, but it is worth considering. At the last attempt, it let me in to the car, coughed a little and then had no juice to even lock the doors, so at least no-one can nick it...
Dh reckons that a replacement battery or a good bump start is all that is needed. Somehow I don't think that I don't want to be in the car for that journey home...! But would have to check our autoaid subs - is it us or the car that is covered...
Anyhow, it may be worth getting it, if the cost of a new battery is all that is required until the tax runs out...
Ponderation required...
The rugby was entertaining, especially Scotland v Ireland. I got plenty of sewing done, the only down side being that my hands now hurt. So I'll need a couple of days off. Hmm, maybe I can still use the sewing machine...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I have survived a trip to primarni with dd and dh. Dd chose some nix, a cap, some purple jeans and some Harry P0tter jamas for a grand total of £18. Dh got socks and a tee-shirt. Dh also pottered in the £1 emporium and I had the privilege of the w0rks and toysrus. I am completely shopped out but dd and dh are happy, so it is worth it. NSD are a little thin on the ground so far - oops.
Since getting home, I have put on a whites wash and then slumped on the sofa with the rugby on.
At some point, I need to make (apple and ?) parsnip curried soup for tomorrow and do something with the drumsticks I cooked up - they may join
my lunch pack...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Week 6/12 done already. Yikes.
Health: plenty of walking with a max of 22k and a min of 7.3k; 2x runs; still overeating!; this week my aim is to get those veggies in me and to avoid the deadly nightshade family (mainly potatoes for me), and to that end I did make the apple + parsnip soup, so that = 4 different veg; morning stretches going well; good reading and quiet times; a little headspace done.
Wealth: the car is gone; buses used most days; too much spent in s'markets, though it was canny shopping; crafting done for Easter fair (and subs already paid); it has felt like a money-leaking week so it shall be reduced next week; paid some ££ to the mortgage - must inquire re their 6% savings account; dh has some extra hours in March and his other work is plodding on.
Life well-lived: overall, I do feel I am getting a balance; I now see parents evenings as an opportunity to walk more; more bits and bobs done for dad/mum stuff; the running makes me feel sooo good, despite the fact that I run like a heffalump; at the end of this week I go to 'mum sit' for 5 days - will take my running kit, knitting and a book.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Sounds like really good progress!
I hate shopping with the boys in p.mark...they are only 4 and 6 but see lots of things they like..I avoid taking them, maybe it'll buy me a few years of peace?!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
