Finally been using some stash up on making stuff. Today I have made 2 miniature handbags for dolls house swaps, and finished 2 of the wedding Orders of Service cards, apart from putting the insert in which will have to be done the week before once everything is finalised.

So, at long last I can up my total!!!

    Total : 154 out of 500

?m=1 managed to make these dolly bags today. Took me hours. The sewing machines just were not sewing well at all. All from the stash though.

Sorry I haven't been around much I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have done lots of diy and overdid it and have had to spend the last two weeks resting an injured (overstrained muscles) leg _it was bothering me a while ago, improved and then in the rush to get the house up for sale by end of March (arbitary target) I carried on when I was over-tired and stressed.

Managed to embroider a Mother's Day card (found a 'stained glass' peony type flower already outlined - done years ago - whilst de-cluttering, so I didn't need to follow a pattern, just a matter of 'colouring in' with up a box of 'use up' threads).

The house still isn't a good place to do any major projects (go downstairs 2 or 3 times a day and try to do what I can for 10-15 minutes before leg pain kicks in - am on top of washing up and managing to peg out washing bit by bit) but have found a few ways to use up bits and have fun.

Sent a set of 4 stamps to mum's to pass on to one of her partners gds - thought it would help with 4 yo ggd in Easter holidays. Went last week and they had decided I could make Mother's Day card with 4 yo (did quite a lot with her before Christmas and left a box with card, glitter foam and other bits at mum's). So after tea we made one from her and one from baby sister (under 1 yo so can't make her own yet) in addition to the one she had made at school.

Planted a lot of potatoes and onions (red and white) a few weeks ago. As I hope to move I have planted everything in 'potato' bags. At the moment they are in groups where I planted them up and I thought I could make flags using pea sticks (thin sticks about 2' long) and patches from my material stash - if I use say brown for potatoes, red for red onions etc and plant a flag in each bag, I can move the bags around in the garden, they will look decorative and I will know what is growing in each bag.

My eldest son was back with me temporarily, he and gf moved into a rented house in February. Despite all my efforts he still has a few things here but the pile keeps reducing. There were some boxes left over and I swapped things round as I spotted an attractive sturdy shoebox with a lid almost the full depth of the base. I am going to separate them, make lids for each half and cover the lids (possibly the old lid - the base is a pattern of brown/beige/turquoise triangles which I intend to keep). This should use up some odd 1/2 metre and less pieces.

My main problem at the moment is that the half attic stairs are sharing my bedroom. The have been repaired before (previous owner used wrong fixings and then sort of 'glued' them together) but now need taking apart - all the bad screws need to be taken out, holes and chips filled in and then put back properly (will be slightly steeper but much stronger). A friend of DS3's is doing the work, with DS3 assisting (friend gets a lot more work out of him).

However access to the attic (where most of my stash is) is by climbing to the top of a ladder which is leaning against the slope of the stairs. You then have to step onto the remaining stairs making sure to put your weight onto the back of each tread and the hand rail is also in my bedroom so there isn't anything to hold onto to pull yourself up with. I did the outlining on an embroidery I had nearly completed for mum but the satin bias I needed for edging it is up there. DS3 went up to get painkillers for me before I went to the doctor (he gave me stronger ones) and he won't go up again. I have reverted to finishing off some bits I was doing before Christmas (left in the front room to do whilst watching Christmas tv).

Happy crafting everyone. Lovely lovely things.

I used some more fabric up, made this bag from another pattern I bought a while ago. I really like the way it came out and am thinking of making some for presents for this year.

I am getting to the end of my latest project - new sort of make for me so has taken a while. :( I think I am quite pleased with it.
I have used 4 vintage buttons & bits of vintage trims & 2 reels of cotton & some fabric for lining from my stash. Not that you can notice any dip in my stash size.

Mr F found a pair of Diesel jeans when he was out walking our dog.
Someone had dumped them with a piece cut out of the leg part. I washed and
pressed them then cut them up.
Finished making a raggy rag bag - used the jeans.
The largest piece of fabric needed to make the bag is 9 inch square. Didn't
have quite enough fabric so put lining material in the top side gusset. Took
the finished bag outside to brush the raggy rag edges - makes lots of mess.
    Size of bag is - 16 x 14 x 4 1/2 inches. This is a Christmas present for
    DDIL.
I am going to make myself one of these bags for when I visit a show - nice
size to carry and the straps are long enough for on shoulder.
I used vintage trims and buttons to embellish the bag.
