rufusdog52 - lovely birdie bag. So much work there with the zips.

kinski , that button work was lovely. Spending 40 mins on it would have been very therapeutic.

Florenceem - congrats on first 50! Bet it won't be long until you have clocked up your century!

love2shop2: what is a "fish and chip" jumper? I apologise if I've missed an earlier explanation.

I've not done much this last wee while, with being away. I used all stash stuff to make a birthday card for my Grandson, who will be 6 in mid-April. Pinterest gave the idea. I used a little funky foam for the lego, but still have heaps left. I think I'll take most of it next week when the whole family (9 of us) go off to a cottage for a week. I'm sure the grandchildren will find it useful for something!

I thought I had just one more card to make for April, but my son proposed to his partner on Mother's Day and they went ring shopping today, so I have an engagement card to make :)

sorry, I'm forgetting the pics are on f/b - fish n chip jumper and hat is an outfit for an African baby that is born to a poor family, the baby has no clothes to wear when it is born so is wrapped in newspaper to be taken home. (I think if you do a search for fish and chip babies it will come up with a pic) The jumper is knitted all in one and the little hat separately. Many of the babies are born with Aids and these little outfits are all they have.

The more I want to achieve it seems the less that I actually do!
Going to have to wait until I get back from my holiday before I get my act together, and start making again. Of course I still create when I am at work, mashing clothes together and creating new clothes from old, and I am doing the odd alterations and repairs still so I am still sewing most days. But I want to use my stash and getting frustrated that I am not managing to.
Want to make one of Elaine's thermal bags, (bit like wonder bags). Think they might sell well.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Susan, I am computer addict too, especially since I have got into Facebook lol.

I am crafting this week. I have booked a stall at a local craft fair this Sunday and I havent really made any new stock apart from those map shoes and a bag I finished yesterday.

I have brought my machine and some of my stash down stairs to see if I can make up some more although looking for something a bit quicker to do as this one took a while.
Bags do take ages to make. Great bag though.

  • Hi everyone

Love the bird bag rufusdog - you are very talented.

I have added a whopping 8 to my target today. I finished my Vintage cross stitch, decoupaged a wooden box for my dad for fathers day and made 6 wooden tag mementoes for some lovely people i met at the concert i went to last week. Sig is updated

I was thinking of looking on Ebay for magnetic bag fasteners - not used them before. Trouble is - then you see other things on there and before you know it - spending happens.
Anyone know best place to buy the magnetic bag fasteners please? I have seen them cheap from China - are they any good?

emslovesmickey, I think if something can be classed as a tool it doesn't count ;) That let's you have stamps, embossing folders, cutting dies ......... After all they help you use up paper, ink, pens ........... ;)

love2shop2, thanks for the explanation of fish & chip jumpers. I googled it - it's a lovely idea.

    I also found this website

    http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/index.htm

It collects a lot of charity needs together, including fish & chip jumpers, so there are plenty of things people can choose to make. Bound to be something there for us stashbusters, I think.
