    Hi All

emslovemickey - love the shrink charms and glad you enjoyed the concert :D

greentiger - love the bag, love the colours, I want one :(

floreenceem - I love the hangers and have added them to my christmas craft list

emmibush - I cut out 64 squares 10 inch x 10 inch, made a plan of where to put them , sewed 8 and have put to one side. I dont think I can sew or even if I like it but will keep trying

These last few days I have done some cut out frames, I must confess DD wanted these last year but although I had the things, 2 pieces of card and a frame for each one, I hadn't done them, I have made 4 and have one to do :T

I blogged them if you want a peek

I havent found a slogan for the fifth I like upto now so it`ll have to wait, I must stop procrastinating :o
    The framed sayings are great.

Please can I ask: do you use a silhouette DS cutting machine?
    If so:
    What are they like?
Can you use different CD software with them?
Where can I get one from?
Any idea how much they are?
    Are they cost effective?
    Please. TIA

Love2shop2 - perhaps you should count the number of squares in your blanket towards your target ! LOL!

Oooooooo I could do that with my bunting flags there must be at least 150 of the flaming things by now, my oh got me some tartan material and I found some in my stash. I've not done much this week as I watch two of my grandbrats quite a bit, my son in law works 4 days on and 4 days of so if my daughters also working these days I have the girls . I was going to get stuff done tomorrow but my oh has told my son that we'll have his daughter overnight.

Tatty Cathy - I can only speak for myself here. It's my opinion only. I love my machine , I am in awe of it
You can only use the software that comes with it. I have upgraded to the designer edition but the basic is fine. I wanted to design my own files so I upgraded. They have their own shop for files but their are millions of files available for free. ;-)

If I was buying another I would probably buy it from eBay as I've had mine before they came into county ( from America)

They are expensive, think they are £250 @ the moment.

When I got mine my friend purchases the cuttle bug . She rarely uses it and asks me to cut for her. The advantage being I can get a design from anywhere usually free and she would pay £50 for a cartridge and use 1 design.

As regards cost effectiveness it's a difficult one to answer. I have made a lot of personalised things, as in t-shirts. Vests bags, cards, sweet boxes for charities, glass etching. Fabric collage. Rhinestone templates Vinyl designs on mirrors. So the machine has probably paid for it self twice over, if I had to buy them.

If mine broke tomorrow I would immediately purchase another, stash ban or not lol

There's a great forum silhouette plus . American based - there's also an online shop called silhouette America where you can see all the designs.

The silhouette does need to be connected to a computer and a basic understanding of computer s is required.

Please note I'm not encouraging you to buy one mind , I'm just enthusiastic about mine.

This is a blog I run for Christmas and there are free files on there

    Blog

    Sorry for hogging board

I love this thread , it keeps me inspired

    Hi tattycath,

I have a Craftrobo Lite machine which is very similar to the silhouette cutting machine and can use their software and cut files. I think this cost me around £99 several years ago. I bought it because I was just getting into scrapbooking at the time and the craftrobo can cut any font on your computer so thought it would be great for titles etc.

I have used it to cut various bits and bobs out and have amounted a large collection of cut files over the years (some free and some paid for) but to be honest I personally normally use my trusty Bigshot for die cutting.

However now that I am trying to not buy anything new I am thinking that I might dust off my craftrobo and start using it more, as already mentioned, it is great for making personilsed items.

I've just looked onEbay and you can buy a second hand one like mine for around £80 at the moment.

Loving everyone's makes. They are all fab :)

Looks like lots of stash busting is currently taking place which is brilliant. I still can't see even a tiny dent in my stash at the moment but I sure am seeing an effect on my bank balance :)

I've managed to make a further 6 cards to push me slowly to my target figure and I think I've found another outlet to sell my wares so hopefully this will spur me on to make more things quicker :)

Keep up the good work fellow stash busters :)

Wow, well done, you should be immensely proud. I on the otherhand am slacking big time - this week has seen me really really tired and no crafting has been done at all :( I have however managed to sort through lots of crafts bits and decide whether I will use them or not - if not Ive given them to school or friends children.

Keep up the great work everyone :T
