Just finished a bag using some more of that leftover curtain material. I confess to buying the plain fabric and ribbon. My intention was that the laptop sleeve I made a wee while ago would go inside. The bag has extra wadding in the lining and also pockets for cables, mouse etc. BUT... it's too small! I used a pattern I got on the internet and the measurements should have allowed it to fit, but the height seems to have been measured from the middle of the base, rather than up the side. The laptop can still be carried in it, but sticks out the top and even though it's the same fabric I'm disappointed. Ho hum. I do still like the bag itself. I still have some curtain fabric left and some of the grey chenille, so I might just manage to make a straightforward tote from that. But I'd need to buy lining material! If I go on like this I may end up with a whole suite of luggage!

AAAAARRRGH! I had written a post tried to upload a phot and it all disappeared.

Here's a bag I made from some more of that leftover curtain fabric. I confess to buying the grey chenille and ribbon. It was intended to be a tote for my laptop - it has extra wadding in the lining and pockets for cables, mouse etc. It matches the sleeve I made a wee while ago. Anyway - it's too small! Height measurements suggested (pattern from internet) must have been taken from middle of base to top rather than up the side! If I'd been thinking properly I'd have realised and just made the base a bit bigger. Ho hum. I have a wee bit of the curtain fabric and some chenille left so I may see if there's enough to make a straightforward tote bag. But I'll need to buy lining material for that. If I do, I'll be well on the way to having a whole suite of matching bags!

Not sure what your bottom paragraph is about.
Loving the 'whole suite of luggage' comment. :rotfl:
