florenceem - what about making bags for storing fresh bread? Tea towels like you've used are ideal for that - supposed to keep it fresher longer somehow. It could become a tea towel & bread bag set!
    Good idea!

These are the map shoes I made, plus a pic of the bag for YD. Hoping I can sell the shoes at some time or another, no rush.

I don't think you will have a problem selling - they are so unique.

One zip and a few fabric scraps used from my stash today. Had a go at making pencil cases for presents.
I have two young DGDs - these pencil cases will be for them. I still have another pencil case to make for my eldest DGD.

Wow Rufus, they are great!!! I mentioned the shoe idea to a friend of mine last week, she is a shoe-a-holic and she was very interested in a pair made from The Financial Times! Hubby has said I can have his Beano annual to cut up, so I may just have a go at a bag first to get the idea. Only query is: what happens if it rains when you're wearing the shoes??? Would the decoupage start to peel off?

The mod podge glue is supposed to be waterproof but I would tell people to be careful and check the weather forecast before wearing just to be on the safe side. They are probably best kept for evenings out etc, but I expect they would stand up to a touch of rain if its only a quick shower. I had a tray that the base was covered in decoupage with some kind of covering and I think this must have been mod podge, I have had it years and been washing it up in the bowl and it had only just started to peel (the top layer of glue) over the last few months. I have re-decoupaged it (new word invented there lol) this last week so I can carry on using it.

Going back to the shoes, once I have covered them in the 5 layers of mod podge and then the two sprays of varnish they do not feel like they are covered in paper, they feel like normal shoes although a few slight bumps here and there but nice and smooth.

The youth group at Church are holding a fund raising afternoon. I have found some card blanks/envelopes so plan to make Easter cards for them to sell.
I will be depleting my stash and helping a good cause - win win!
Just been upstairs and found a pack of pastel paper so more stash on the way out of the house.
