dxm -= I make my bunting a bit differently - mostly no sew!

I cut a triangle from cotton using pinking shears and a slightly larger triangle from felt to back it. I then use bias binding to hold them all together (that's all the sewing I do!). The felt gives the bunting some weight but because back and front are not attached other than at the top it allows the cotton to flap in the breeze.

Kinski, you can make your own bias binding, best to have a rotary cutter and mat with big ruler but you can use chalk, ruler and scissors. cut the strips on the bias of the fabric then iron the folds in. You might not need the strips to be cut on the bias for bunting, try doing a strip off the bottom of some old sheeting or something and iron the folds in and then pin the bunting in place and hold it up and see if it hangs right xx

I had thought of trying to make it myself but the cloth shop close to me sells it for 40p a metre and I'll probably get fed up making it soon, I tend to get bored making things after I've done them a few times. If I stick with them then I probably will try and make it myself so thanks for the instructions :T.
dxm my bunting has the same material on both sides as it'll be seen on both sides, I didn't put anything else in it :o, I just mucked about with a bit of paper until I got the template looking an alright size, the size of the template I used for the bunting in the picture is 8 inches across the top and 12 inches down the sides.

Forgive me everyone as I have sinned. I went to The Range on Friday and spent £22! In my defence, I needed a new craft knife and blades, some more square scalloped edged cards (to use up more stash!) and some Cadbury purple ribbon for my best friend's wedding card. The other thing I bought was a neck hanging magnifier to help me finish my cross stitch kits. Not too bad eh? Means to an end, and I did only spend my birthday money! :o

Birthday money doesn't count so no naughty step for you :j

Thanks for the link Florenceem, I'll have to look at that at some point.

I've made 3 more Christmas cards today while the baby boy slept, very well behaved of him :) I'll try to add them to my blog later. Also going to attempt to make a taggy blanket for my little boy later so will let you know how it goes. Thought it would be a good way to use up some bits of ribbon and make him a little something too. Hope he'll like it!

    Happy stash busting people!

Florenceem - I love the padded hangers well done you, they make a lovely gift

Debrak - I dont think necessities count. I haven't really seen anything I want lately. Did have to buy some glue though, all this decoupage

craftingmad - you be one proud mummy, well done to the children,
I love , LOVE the noticeboard

I haven't been constructing any cards, or any projects spent all weekend giving silhouette a bash. Making diecuts to build up a stash out of card and backing papers, must have used about 60 sheets. So thats a good thing. Also sold more stamps on ebay , 32 so things are looking up

Home alone today (giving mum a break and a well deserved rest) so guess what I did - I "busted" out the craft stuff and made 30 cards (apart from the card blanks it doesnt seem to have made much of a dent in the stash)

    Exhausted now though :o

Keep up the great work everyone :T
