Ooh, I wonder if I can still get cheap padded hangers...must have a look!
Note to self-get my 50 items finished out of my stash first. :D
I have in the past made the padded hangers using a plain wooden hanger which I covered with wadding. I used to find the wooden hangers at jumble sales and charity shops.

Kinski, you can make your own bias binding, best to have a rotary cutter and mat with big ruler but you can use chalk, ruler and scissors. cut the strips on the bias of the fabric then iron the folds in. You might not need the strips to be cut on the bias for bunting, try doing a strip off the bottom of some old sheeting or something and iron the folds in and then pin the bunting in place and hold it up and see if it hangs right xx

emmi, i found your cards and they are fab. The 'glass' ones are so unusual. I have a bunch of those big flowers too, so .....
The baby grab bag is a lovely, original idea - I may have to steal that one!

As I stole the baby bag idea from Pinterest I think I can allow you to steal it from me too :)

Kinski - I love the bunting - I made some once for my daughter and need to do some for my son at some point

Florenceem - I like the padded hangers, how did you do them???

Nice to hear from you CraftingMad, am feeling quite proud of myself too!

Well my sister came up for a couple of days and bought some fabric for me so I'm trying to practise adding zips to things now. Did make a new make-up bag and a case for my other sister's Hudl so 2/20 for my gifts.

Hope weekends are going well for everyone!

    Hello, me again :)

I have managed to finish 3 pages of Project Life today and also decorate a memo board. I am going to attempt to upload a photo from facebook - it may or may not work but here goes:-

It also means that I can declare 4 items towards my target goal and also towards my mini "one a day whilst the hubby is away" challenge :0

Forgive me everyone as I have sinned. I went to The Range on Friday and spent £22! In my defence, I needed a new craft knife and blades, some more square scalloped edged cards (to use up more stash!) and some Cadbury purple ribbon for my best friend's wedding card. The other thing I bought was a neck hanging magnifier to help me finish my cross stitch kits. Not too bad eh? Means to an end, and I did only spend my birthday money! :o

I used this blog tutorial but decided to sew the ends and leave open along the top edge.

I've been asked to make some bunting for a birthday party. It will be a great project for using up some stash, but I'm a bunting beginner, so I need some of your expert help please.
Is it best/easiest to hem the edges of the triangles, or make each one double sided and turn them so that the seams are inside?
Do I need to stiffen the triangles somehow?
The bunting will be strung between trees in the garden. What is a good size for the triangles?

I did two shapes sewn together and turned through. I used some iron on interfacing as well on the back of the bunting triangles.
Re size - I would say - depends on personal choice/garden size. I made bunting for a child's bedroom - I was given a specific size to do.
