loopychris - I love starting things but am no good at finishing them :) I also hate housework and decluttering so hope it wasn't too painful for you. Also hope you managed to have a have a lovely day filled with crafting :)

Thank you, but it didn't happen!! I was so exhausted with all the running around we've been doing I spent a very indulgent couple of hours just slobbed out in front of the telly on the laptop, did a bit of stripping on the stairs (woodchip so takes ages), then went back to bed for a couple of hours. Got up about 3.45, managed to shower, get dressed and tidy kitchen up before hubby got back in from his day's walking! So, nothing got done at all I'm afraid!

In fact I've done nothing stash-busting wise for the past few days, but I've managed to tidy the house and declutter a bit, so I am intending to concentrate on stash-busting for the next couple of days.

I must confess to adding a couple of things to the stash though: another wooden breadbin to make a mini room scene in; a small canvas picture to alter; and a little mirror with a wooden frame that I will put buttons round. I'm hoping to have a fundraising stall later in the summer, so these will go towards that. I also found a wooden heart in one of my drawers, I will cover that with buttons too. And I was given a bag of duvet covers and curtains to make morsbags with!!! So I need to work extra fast to get some of the stash down!

    Hi all,

I am currently a bit of a crafting hoarder... I tend to buy things that are cheap (but cool), and then never get round to using them. SO I would love to join this thread of this is OK?

I have joined the 14 projects in 2014 thread also, and when it comes to crafting I have only a few exceptions. I am aiming to make a few clothes at part of my challenge, and know that I will need to buy zips for both the planned dress and skirt, and may have to buy thread for one... (and eventually sewing machine needles).

The other exception may be card blanks, I have never really made cards that often, so although I have found one pack of five, I may need to buy a few more to help me bust the stash. HOWEVER these will only be bought when I have used these 5 up, (I have also folded a piece of card for my partners anniversary card, and found a rather vomit inducing shiny gold envelope for it to go in - which will be used at the end of this month)... He'll find that funny though.

No other crafting objects will be bought until I have run out of suitable alternatives (i'm thinking clothes here, as I don't have much of a cloth horde).

Overall, although I have committed to 14 craft projects for 2014, I need to produce more to get the stash removed from the house slowly but surely, or my partner and I will have no space to live in... So I would like to aim for 50, as this is doable.

Knitting I have three planned projects (one started, although I am a beginner, and in my 1.5 foot long scarf which started off at 15 stitches wide, has become 29 stitches wide). Not boding well, but as I was bought about 20 sets of needles for Christmas I think I need to get my head round this one to make at least the 2 scarfs, and one loopy cowl thingy made up.

I have one project completed, which will then go into another (but the next part has 24 parts so I'm not counting it as double counting). - what are morsbags, @ loopychriss - i'm making and advent calender fro my boyfriend, and they sound intriguing.

I have to admit I haven't been as busy as \I should with the crafting side of my life as I have been busy at university, which will end in 6 months or so...

I need to get busy because as soon as I have a job after graduation we'll be moving, and the more I bust, the less we have to move...

Hi Nimbo, morsbags are cloth bags made to use instead of plastic carriers, usually from donated fabric such as curtains, duvets, sheets etc. For more info look at their website, morsbags.com. Very easy to make, I can make a full sized one in 15 minutes, but for the advent calendars I am scaling them down to 4" x 4" so I can put little gifts in them.

I've not put down how many things I would like to make as I go of the boil and don't touch stuff for weeks on end. I'm not as dedicated as you lot but I do hope to get rid of most of my stash this year.

Can I join in please? I've joined in the 14 project challenge as well in order to try and use some of my crafting stash up and get motivated again. I've tried that many different crafts over the years I seem to have built a stash mountain of various things and I had more craft stuff bought me at Yule that I've not even used yet. Yet various things have meant my crafting motivation, particularly for paper crafting has waned. I don't at the moment want to part with much so I really need to get using it.

If it's ok I'm not going to give myself to big a target to aim for in making things as my health jitterbugs about but I thought I'd do it on a monthly basis. As we are already churning along in January I'll start with two months and here by make a pledged not to buy any more craft stuff for this month and February but I will try to make something with what I've got. :)

rosie51 - sorry to hear you've not been well - hope you are feeling a bit better now and well done on making a bag whilst feeling so poorly :)

crafty witch - I daren't watch that channel at the moment but just from you mentioning it, makes me want one too :) I find it's great to have an item you want to save for as it helps to focus my mind on money making / saving so that hopefully one day that item can be mine - good luck with the making and selling :)

craftyc - brilliant stash busting - I love things which use up my stash and entertain my children :)

loopychris - Oh no - never mind - it sounds like you needed that "chill out" time and I can't talk as it seems that's all I want to do at the minute!! You've still done more than me as I have not decluttered or tidied since the festive period :) Your list is coming along nicely so you should still be very proud of yourself :)

pigpen - another lovely jumper - you are currently my queen of stash busting :)

kinski - this challenge has always been about taking it at your pace so please don't apologise - I bet you are just as dedicated as me :)

nimbo & MrsBones - of course you can both join. Welcome to you both. All I can say is have fun along the way and please post your creations as I need all the motivation and inspiration I can get :)

I've been trying to have a bit of a tidy in my craft room and whilst sorting through a large pile of papers I came across Christmas Cards sent to me from 2012 - told you I liked to hoard craft stash :)

Accordingly I have turned these 12 cards into more gift tags and these are now safely away with the other Christmas bits ready for the end of this year :0

So 12 more for my total :-

    77/ 2014 - I'm getting there slowly but surely :)

Well after my tidy session in my craft room yesterday I have managed to make my OH's anniversary card... Project number 2/50 complete (not too bad for day two)...

Another card needs to be made, and a pincushion (I managed to throw pins across the floor earlier, and I always manage to find the one I missed with the ball of my foot)... I have sneakily also mended a skirt, and an old jumper, which may not last much longer, but I like it for mooching round, and I have a planned birthday shop planned next weekend in some old junk shops...

not sure if the links will work - as they are in the 2014 group challenge...

I will get there with the little bits, so I can start on the bigger projects soon... I'm still getting used to my new sewing machine, but I have finally managed to take it out for a play, and I've had it since Christmas now... Been chomping at the bit to get it out...

Hope you're all getting on well, and that you're gaining space in your houses...
