Hi everyone, seems to me your all going great .

I have visitors the next few days so have to stay out of the crafting area :-(

Is it me or does crafting give you a lift... ? Saying that I have to do some cooking / baking and that always makes me happy as long as nothing goes wrong.

Congrats on reaching your first target dallam

Crafting mad - well done setting your shops up , I couldn't sell my cards don't feel confident enough for that I usually donate them to charity , the scouts had 200 one year, the cubs had two hundred Xmas cards in Germany uk forces ( cost £15 to post !! ) and a theatre wanting funds had 100 , they said they sold well but don't know how much they sold for

Susan your like me, I keep getting told that I could make money with the dog coats that I make and some of the toys I knit and the sock monkeys that I've done, I'm far to lazy to work at it. I used to give the dog coats to rescues and the rest of the stuff is only for family and friends, every time I hear someone say oh I like that I start to back of :rotfl:

    Me again :)

Kinski - My husband is exactly the same - he moans about all my craft bits but he has a conservatory full of tools, wood, DIY bits and bobs etc - they must all be the same :) Also see advice to susan42 - go for it and give it a try :)

Craftywitch - totally agree - if it is for an order don't turn it down - buy what you need - wish people would order from me more often :) Very impressed that you are thinking of Easter already - Ia m struggling to think about next week :)

emslovesmickey and craftyC - well said and great advice :)

dallam20 - Congratulations & well done on reaching your target :) Good luck with your next one. It's nice to know that my idea is working for other people too :) I LOVE craftwork cards and like you have many of their bits on my shelves (or in piles on the floor :) as they are just too nice to use. I have to admit to having several Hunkydory sheets as well but have never ever used a topper from any of them :(

susan42 - you are absolutely right. Crafting really does make me feel happy. I don't have many vices and when I craft it gives me some precious me time :) I never used to have the confidence to sell my items until one day I just decided that I would venture to a craft fair with a small stall. Its one of the best thing's I have ever done. Not only did people want to buy my items (I never thought that anyone else would want to pay cold hard cash for them) but I made some lovely friends as well. Go for it - what's the worse that could happen? Even if you don't sell anything I guarantee you, you will come away having learned something and made at least one new likeminded friend :)

CraftyC - thanks for adding to sig and to everyone else who has done it. It just makes my life much easier :)

OK time for an update from me:-

I am pleased to report that I can cross another 5 items of my 2014.

Today I have made 4 more matchbook notepads and also a 2014 memory jar (the memory jar is also counting towards one of my 14 in 2014 challenge).

So now 65 things made - only another 1949 to go (or put another way 5.5 items per day - what was I thinking!!!!!)

I am going to do it though - I will not be defeated!!!!

2014 items!!!! Wow - you've made a great start already though, way above your 5.5 items a day already
  • Update from me: nothing finished, but I've made 4 bunting flags towards a set of bunting, and sorted out some more buttons for another button-covered picture frame. I've so many projects on the go I don't know which to do first, so I have to see what mood I'm in each day as to what I get done. I'm also trying to strip the stairs and landing of wood chip wallpaper, so get distracted by doing that as well. Plus, the house needs decluttering and tidying, so I'm trying to spread my time amongst all those things. I'd much rather be crafting though!

Got a free day tomorrow so I'm going to have a very indulgent day and just get on with my stash busting I think. Hopefully I'll have more to report on tomorrow!
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Pixies sweater.. it needs a couple of buttons but I can do those tomorrow.

Yarn arrived to finish the red jumper so I should get that done at least before the weekend.. it took 2 balls more than I bought so I had to wait for it to arrive.. Now I need to decide on my next project..

Wow that's lovely. All your projects seem to be much more time-consuming than my cardmaking - it would take me years to knit a jumper like that. Still I'm slowly using up stuff which is the object of the exercise I guess.

but it took 3 balls of wool which is a fairly big pile! .. and has taken the better part of 6 months it was in my 'I'll get round to finishing it after this next project' pile.. I have 1 to finish over the next couple of days.. a mens superchunky jumper in Large.. it is huge! and then I have another unfinished project to get done!

But yes.. the finished effect is lovely I think the lack of pattern does make that more effective too.. though I might knit a small flower to sew on.. if I can ever be bothered.. I do intend using up odds and ends for knitting flowers.. one day! :p
