    Hello everyone.

Please can I join in? I have the e.e.c. craft mountain in my home:rotfl::rotfl:
It has now filled the very spacious under stairs cupboard and I have boxes of stuff in the living room and my bedroom. And the dresser in the kitchen that used to contain pots and pans has been emptied to acommodate craft stuff. I curremtly have yards and yards of fabric of all weights plus the interfacing weight to match, threads, patterns, jewellery makng stuff, candle making equipment, enough papercrafting stuff to stock a small regional branch of Hobbbycraft, 4x32 liter storage boxes full of yarn (but I doubt I have enough matching balls to make anything bigger than a babys cardigan :o) and this is just the stuff that I can remember I've got! Lord only knows whats lurking at the back of the craft cupboard, I haven't been as far as the back since about 2007:eek:
I do a lot of craft fairs and sell online but even so, it's out of order'

For money saving and sanity saving reasons I am determined to use up the bulk of what I've got before I buy any more.So no more until I can at least get it all in the one cupboard (just remembered I've got a side board full as well in the front room :o )

I work full time so may not be back before the weekend, but by that time I will have some sort of list and or plan to destash.:)

Of course you can and a big welcome to you :)

Your stash sounds a bit like mine - welcome to the club of realising that you have to make it work for you. :)

I am going to make 2014 the year that I really start selling online. I have just set up Etsy and Folksy accounts and am in the process of rebranding. I already sell at craft fairs etc but given the size of my stash (not to mention the amount I have spent on it :( ) know that I really have to do more to make back some of the cash spent.

Don't worry about how long it takes you to complete the challenge or to post on this thread - complete it at your own pace and you are always welcome on here :)

    Good luck :)

Hi everyone so glad to see/hear what everyone is up to

In a real effort to bust the stash i have bravely cancelled my bi monthly stamping mag as have 2 years worth in file mostly unread but I really needed the free stamp sets!? Not used any of them so going to file all my various mags in month order jan to dec and read in this order so the projects are at least relevant. Hope to read and pull out pages I like put in a file, take out and complete projects from the file. Any remaining in file at end of year.....bin .

I also decided that any papercraft classes ie card and scrap are to be quit until I use stash at home. Why pay for class when so much yummy stash at home. I will miss out on the time with friends but will still see most of them at other non papercraft classes.

    Am I brave or mad?

Well done CraftyC - you sound just like me - I LOVE magazines but like you don't usually get the time to actually read them or use the freebies that come with them. I too have cancelled my subscriptions and am making an inspiration book out of all my old mags to hopefully inspire me to make lots of yummy things (the inspiration book is very much a work in progress and I am slowly making my way through a two foot high pile of mags and cutting out what I love and want to try).

    You go girl :)

Thought i'd pop up to say i haven't disappeared, and haven't bought anything else (phew!) but i'm working on a cross stitch of my grandparents at the moment so projects are slow going. I have made a pendant this morning though, using a little bit of material i got in the latest CC box. It's a measuring tape with the number 24 on it (my bday so my fav number). So that's now

    19 out of 50

Hello and lovely to know you are still there :)

The cross stitch sound amazing and I'd love to see a pic of the pendant when you have a sec. :)

I will own up to buying a new storage box for all my gems - the flat back type - I have a very big collection of them. Some will get used when i decorate the guitar but that wont be for a while yet.

I think you can be let off this - as far as I'm concerned that purchase classes as storage (and therefore a necessity) rather than a craft spend :)

Oooh quick request - would you all mind putting your challenge progress in your signature (i.e stash busting challenge 63/2014).

This will make it a bit easier for me to update the list on page 1 and give me a bit more time for crafting :)

    Thanks xxxx

I want to make some pom poms now :) Only problem is I know I have some wool lurking in my stash but I can't currently find it as it must be under one of my million piles of other stash - now which pile shall I try first? :)

I'm loving my new printer - it was so easy to set up :)

You will be pleased to know that I have put it to good use. I have printed off lots of strange shaped photos and completed two pages of my project life album and the title page so that's 3 more things to tick off my list of 2014 :)
The only reason I have all my wool to hand is that we're hoping to have our house on the market this year and I've been digging stuff out to put away tidily, we want to downsize and lose either 2 or 3
bedrooms so I really need to get rid of a load of stuff, or rather oh says I have to but he has more crap lying about than I do, flaming men . If the rug goes well I'm going to make one for our bathroom, it'll only go down when we have viewings as I don't think it would stand up to getting soaked by oh every day.
  • Right I'm back..........earlier than advertised:D

Thank you for the warm welcome. It's nice to know I'm not alone with this problem :T

I have decided I need to complete at least 500 items before I buy anything new. The problem I have is that I sometimes get orders for specific things and don't have the right colour yarn, fabric, paper or whatever in stock. As I don't want to turn down good money I think I will have to allow myself to still purchase for special orders. :o

Any hoo, I'll update my signature now, and I'm off to finish a pile of easter bunnies. They're aready started but I'm going to count them towards my total as I didn't buy anything new to make them.

Sounds like a good idea - this may be a craft busting forum but above all this is a money saving/making site so if you have orders it's important to fill them

    Tenth Anniversary
    Hi Kinski and everyone else,

Good idea to clear now. We had to move house at very short notice.for a while keeping 2 houses. One full of my own stuff and the other with inherited contents. Long story but basically because of woodworm in house we moved to nearly all our stuff packed up and put into storage.

4 years later house rebuilt and now got the awful task of unpacking all my stash and of course whilst my stuff was in storage I bought more... This is why I now need to clear so much.

Try and stay focused and encouraged then when you unpack you will not dread it and love seeing all your fave bits again.:)

Good luck I wish I had the chance to be better prepared as I felt out of control for so long. Do it now!

Well my friend and I both completed our first 50 items yesterday yay. That means we can spend at the next craft fair but only money saved specially for it. No credit or debit cards!
I was looking through some card toppers yesterday and was do pleased to use up some scalloped die cuts I have had forever and bought before I had a die cutter. With the help of my friend I now have a lovely collection of Christmas tags. As the fair is not till 28th Feb we both need to start the next 50 now.
After looking through all my Craftwork Cards goodies yesterday which takes up a whole shelf I was reminded why I cannot buy any more papers no matter how much I think I need them! My paper stash is ridiculous.
When I go to the fair I am not allowed to buy any paper or card unless it's white stamping card. And my friend is not allowed to buy any more Hunkydory kits!!!! Lol
