Hi to all the newbies :-)
I spent all yesterday tidying my craft room, I'm not sure you'd notice though. I have got a sheet of toppers out ( which I'm going to use all of) to make some birthday cards
Cwsmith - I too have lots of crafts on the go at the same time. I'm trying to knit a scarf (trying the right word ) I so cannot knit . I've got a cross stitch ready to start. I have the sewing machine threaded ready to learn to see. Bucilla stockings to start. Best I shut up before I become depressed lol
My aim is to make gift tags for next Xmas throughout the year and cards . I left it so late last year.
The beginning of the year I make all the birthday cards for everyone on my list. And by using all the toppers hopefully I have some spare (that's the idea anyhow)
Loopychris - bread in sounds intriguing
Toonie - I spend the non existing money too, I purposely don't goto craft places since the start of the challenge.
Scrap mate - some brilliant bargains there and I notice you nearly completed your 50 items :-)Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
ooooh this is so up my street! We have recently moved and my hoard of crafting stuff came to light! I now have a massive double sized bedroom all to myself for my crafting side... so - as much as I would love to go out and buy more things to make and have the proverbial 20 projects on the go as most crafters do have... I must resist!
So - yes put me down for 50 projects before I buy more stuff as I think that will be all I can manage over a year with house renovations going on also! ha ha ha

Current crafting is 1/50 (completed a yellow jersey on 1st Jan for the Harrogate Tour De France bunting charity thingy!)Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

Well I must admit to buying some ribbon/twine yesterday but I have made so many Christmas tags I have ran out. My two boxes of Christmas stuff are now in a single half filled box plus I made 10 Christmas cards.:D
Have also made some collage style pages using a pile of not good enough to scrapbook photos. I have put them into an unused A3 plastic wallet book to give as a gift to my dad. The photos look lovely all together , certainly a lot better than sitting in a box in my room!
loopychriss-what glue do you use for your button frames. I had a go but my buttons are now dropping off!!! and the miniature in a bread bin sounds amazing-would love to see some pics.:DStashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -
I must join in with you all, my stash is sooooo big, rolls and rolls of fabrics, over 600 sewing patterns, rolls and rolls of lace, ribbon you name it and I've probably got it when it comes to sewing. Then there's all the jewellery making stuff, knitting, papercraft (I think you get the idea) I am a huge craft hoarder!!!!!! There, now I feel better. I have had some health problems which are on-ging and it affects my hands which has meant I've not been able to do as much as normal, but still, I need to do something about this huge stash otherwise I'll have to move to a bigger house, ha ha!!!
I will start by sorting out my work area so that it's more useable rather than just a storage area.........2024 Challenges

Would love to join in have like yourselves loads of stash a lot from £30 to buy remaining stock from closing shop. Been in storage for 2 years while building a house!
Need to sort and use as no space to unpack any more.
Can't see desk to work on so tried the on my desk challenge to use stuff on desk...but I seem to always need to add a bit of something else to finish the project. Then end up with more stuff on desk and back in the cycle finding I wasn't really enjoying crafting it was a chore to use up the stuff back on the desk.:(
This challenge seems way more fun as I do have plenty of lovely stuff that I will be happy to use.:)

Crochet question... What size hook/yarn would you suggest for learning?
I don't want anything stringy that might separate or anything fluffy that will confuse me.. I'm a bit dim on a good day.. but this year I WILL master it.. if knitting in the round and magic loops can be mastered so can this.. and today I am on strike so it is an ideal day to start...
would DK and a 4mm work the same as knitting or is tension different on crochet?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Love the idea of a collage - I have so many photos which are really no good for scrapbook pages but as a collage they could still be used - I will be borrowing this idea from you - thanks

Hello and welcome. I think any crafter is a hoarder - I keep telling my husband this but he does not believe me - maybe I better get him reading this thread (then again maybe not as he will know exactly the extent of my addiction
Sorting out sound good - unfortunately I always try to sort out but must be a messy crafter as, as soon as I have made something else my craft room looks like it did before the tidy (actually sometimes worse!!!)
As for a bigger house - it does not work. I tried that when I moved to Norfolk and I have just got more stuff as I have filled up all the extra space we gained

Welcome - one a week sound like a brilliant target - why did I not go for that one instead
I tried the use on your desk challenge as well but like you found the items on there getting bigger so for me this challenge is much easier
Don't forget to keep us updated with your progress and pics would be great too - I love looking at pics - it stops me doing housework for a little bit longerMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
