Have just cancelled my two craft magazine subscriptions at my local craft shop (I done it via email so I could not be tempted to buy new sale goodies
so that alone will be saving me £10 per month or a massive £120 a year
It will also help declutter my crafty stash as I have piles of magazines all over the house. My aim is to cut out the bits from the old ones I like and start an inspiration book. I'm sure I'll also come across loads of free papers etc which are also included and I have never used - more stash to butMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -

Loopychriss, so sorry to hear about both your parents being in hospital. My best wishes for their recovery xx0

Thank you craftingmad and lequirk, they both seemed better today, but because they are both 89 I think they are being kept in to make sure they are fully better. My mum can't get around very easily so she's being assessed for rehabilitation, dad can get around but still has a bit of a cough and is feeling very weak. So they're both in the best place and getting excellent treatment. xxKeep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Well I've made a start and almost completed the title page of my project life 2014. I just need to print out the photos of us four and then its done. However my printer has decided that its had enough so had to order a new one and awaiting delivery.
Have also sorted out all of the 6 x 4 photos needed ready for my disney project life album. We went in march / april this year so my aim is to have this completed before the same time 2014!!!
I've also started going through my piles of crafty magazines I have in my bedroom and on the landing. They really are my weakness - but they will be no longer! So far I've sorted them into two piles. The first are mags under a year old. These I intend to keep as they are and thumb through them when I am getting withdrawal symptoms
The second pile are those older than a year and my intention is to cut out anything that inspires me and make an inspiration book. I am intending on counting this as a project as not only will it use up my 2 foot high pile of old magazines (i kid you not!) but also it will make me use a spiral bound and very cute A4 notebook i had been saving as "too nice to use"
I am also going to take out and use all the freeebie papers, stamps, toppers etc which
came with them and put them to use. I have decided that even though some of them are not to my taste they can be used to make cards for a local charity I support.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Loopy chris - sorry to hear about your parents and hope they pick up soon
Crafting mad- good idea making an inspiration book, magazines are my downfall and I read them and put them on the shelf never to be used again, perhaps I'll give them to local OAP group a few at a time and if they use them take more. I currently have about 8 I haven't read :-(
I got 4 subscriptions when they were 5 for £5. Great value but haven't had time to read.
No have to think of my next projects as 2014 didn't sound many if you said it fast lol . Best start with all the birthday cards for the year I think. I start them next week when the visitors have gone. Last lot goes the 2nd before some more comes on the 8th ... So inconvenient lol where craftings concernedChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Loopychriss - glad to hear your parents are doing better and sending my wishes for a speedy recovery.
I've not been making anything over the last few days as I've been feeling a little under the weather but hope to get more done over the week before I go back to work on Monday. I've got two birthday cards to make and a couple of bracelets to make for two 10 year olds.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -
Crafting Mad- I did that with my pile of magazines and am now more likely to look in my folders than sift through piles of magazines when I needed inspiration.
I am currently sorting through my Christmas box- a box full of Christmas bits and bobs that is getting bigger every year! have binned a lot of the old Christmas cards I have kept and am trimming the rest into tags or recycled Christmas cards and then passing them on to family, friends or the local charity shop!
I am actually really enjoying clearing out my stash-it can get a bit overwhelming when you have too much stuff and the irony is that despite having such a lot I often go into my room and cannot get myself inspired despite the stash that I have!Stashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -

I know exactly what you mean chirpycheap, I am always getting overwhelmed by my stash - I never thought I could have too much but am now guessing you really can.
Think I am just going to work with a kit (or certain items) at a time and go from there.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020
