Hi x can anybody help me. Do any of you use a machine to cut card and fabric? I would like to do both and preferably like the recommendations of people who use them x thanks

Henna, I have a Sizzix Big Shot and it cuts card and fabric. If you want to cut fabric you are best backjng the fabric with iron on interfacing first.

ok confession time - I have only just bought the Big Shot :D In my defence I have wanted one for some time and had an unexpected small windfall (£100). I think that having it will mean that I can make some quilts and cards I've wanted to do which will clear stash. Ok that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I haven't posted for ages but have been reading. There are some wonderful makes and very talented people.

I've finished a cross stitch, 2 hedgehog knitted hats, made 3 snoods, sewn a jumper up and made a handbag charm so I havent been idle. I also sorted my material out yesterday to make my mil a lap quilt for her 80th birthday.

Will try not to leave it so long before posting next time.

  • Hi everyone, lovely to see all the photos of your crafts. I'm just on with a little hat now for a girl in Africa - well! I say girl I'm going to put a flower on it but I suppose some boys like flowers too. Will put a pic up when it's finished. Keeeeeeep crafting! ;-)

Wow what fantastic makes I'm so jealous of the talent that's here. I've at last finished the tartan bunting, I'll take a picture of it later it's in two lengths and they're each about 8 metres long. My daughter's furniture has left Philadelphia and will be here in eight weeks time, my daughter her oh and her son will be here in just over three weeks :T.

    Lovely cards.
DGD wants me to make a fabric bag which she can then decorate with paint. Should I wash the fabric before I sew the bag?
