Sorry I've been MIA, been so much happening recently I've barely had any time to breathe let alone craft, that, however, is all changing as I now have my craft room all to myself. My brother has taken all his stuff (which took up lots of space and I've been able to start un-stacking my crafty goodies from the precarious places they've been living of late.
My friend has also signed me up for an Art Trail and we are doing it together so I now have to get my crafting properly into gear as it would be nice to be able to sell a few things during our open house days as well as to exhibit pieces. Anyone with experience of art/craft fairs...what sells well? I make cards, jewellery, bookmarks, paintings etc.
So...my overall makes haven't really increased (though have started making some watercolour postcards) but I have had to buy a few things like canvasses and frames.
I'll try and catch up with the thread later with a cup (or gallon) of tea!Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -
Has anyone noticed how hard it is to make cards for blokes? I'm racking my brains trying to think of ideas for my brothers.
Anyway, been at the shrink plastic today. Made a necklace, a pair of earrings and just a little charm type thing. Signature updated0 -

When I made cards to sell, I was always at a loss to know what to do for men too. Funnily enough, my dad likes all the pretty floral ones... so maybe other men might too?
Today I have cut out some pieces for one of the quilts I have to make for August (dog show raffle), and pieced together into blocks. The quilt is only going to be small, lap sized, so only 12 blocks. Six of them are pieced, the other 6 are just full sized squares of material. I will try and get them sewn together tomorrow.
Did make a start on the 'Mr & Mrs' papier mache letters for the wedding, but the silver glitter paint I bought didn't cover the brown-ness of the letters. I had a little tester pot of paint that is a sort of coral colour and gave it a coat with that: daughter isn't sure whether she likes it but that was with only one coat and was a bit patchy. Got a big tin of it in the shed (left over from last year's decorating) so will get hubby to dig it out and try that. If it isn't the right colour after a couple of coats then I'll be covering them with tinfoil!!!
So nothing decluttered but progress being made....Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

All these cards are beautiful. My sister makes gorgeous cards with lots of layers. I cant bare to part with any of them. One of them is still standing in my sewing room as I like it as a picture as well as a card. As for men's cards, how about copying some pics of cars? For my OH one year I took a photo of his car from the front, printed it out a few times and did it as a 3D card. He really liked that. I also did him a card with a photo of our dog on the front in 3D using the same method. My sister has made cards for my dad with American scenes on it and cowboys (he is into westerns and country music.0

Hello everyone, I'm back! I had a lovely week away with my family. What a busy bunch you've been - lots of lovely makes!
craftingmad, I have to hand back that A* you gave me and opt instead for an F--. To quote Scotland's bard, "The best laid schemes o' mice and men gang aft agley." In other words, I had so much fun that I got nothing done. That's right, a big fat zero!
Two lunches out this week plus grandson's birthday means crafting time is pretty limitedOh well, we'll see how things go. Glad to be back with you all.
