I have been busy all day!! Believe it or not it has taken me the best part of 6 hours to follow a pattern and make a dress! The sewing machine is playing up and I haven't followed a proper sewing pattern for over 30 years!
Machine keeps missing stitches and I've re threaded it, both top and spool, I've even wound another spool in case the thread wasn't tight enough!
Any suggestions gratefully received. It's a brother machine if that helps. Model vx-1097. It is over 20 years old.
I will endeavour to sort my camera out and upload some pics of makes this coming week.
    :)
Try a new needle plus does machine need a clean in bobbin area?

If you have the booklet that comes with the machine - it will tell you in there. If not - go to You Tube - watch a video - best way to learn. I looked used this for my search -

Added to stash but - not spent money!
Mr F aka Womble walked the dog today and came home with - 2 large pieces of hessian. They were probably sacks that were taken apart/opened up.
Mr F said - did I want them? If not he would see if the local charity shops wanted to put them in their rag bags to raise money.
I have ideas - watch this space.

Well done on the makes everybody, they are all lovely and you've been very good at using up stash. Unlike me.... I seem to have come to a halt recently, apart from working on the Order of Service cards. Hopefully I can get them all finished this week and can then add them to my total.

However I did today actually finish one of the patchwork quilts I started a couple of years ago. It is a 6 block cot quilt, and I had done it as 'quilt as you go'. I did get all the finishing off done a few weeks ago and just had to trim it and put the binding on. Well.... ta da.... today I have worked on it and have just finished it!!! I've got a friend's daughter coming tomorrow, she had a baby at the beginning of February and I wanted to give her a little gift, so I'm going to give her the cot quilt.

I can really say I've destashed it then, because it will be going out of the house and not just being stored somewhere else. Now I've got the sewing urge back again....!!!

    Total: 155 out of 500
