I don't think it is; others have posted here that they've not spent anything or just forgot to show their card and ended up with 6 vouchers whilst others have shopped a lot and got 3 vouchers.
As long as everyone gets their next set in time, there probably isn't anything to worry about. I think JL must know their customers well and I doubt they'd knowingly let things slide and not send the next vouchers in time!
ive never spent anything in the shop and ive just had another 3 months of vouchers come today0 -
I've just received my 3 month supply of vouchers for June, July & Aug.
I don't buy a great deal from john lewis but have bought a bag, a £130 camera and some bath stuff from them in the last few months but still only got three vouchers.
Think they're prob just going to keep it under review. Must remember to have the card scanned everytime - even for smaller purchases.0 -
Both me and mum have received our next 3 tokens.
I spent £200 in JL and my mum spent £00 -
Has anyone had any brainwaves about how much they think we should spend during this three month voucher period to guarantee receipt of the next batch? I don't mind buying gift vouchers because it's like a kind of saving scheme for me (added to my vouchers from surveys they'll come in handy for the next time a kitchen appliance fails or I could spend them at Waitrose on essentials) but I'm undecided as to how much to spend. Does anyone have any ideas?0

On reading the above posts (most of them) it would appear your vouchers have nothing to do with how much you spend. Both people posting here and the staff themselves have stated this many times over.
If you're still wondering how much to buy, why?0 -
In future they're not going to keep doling out free coffee and cake to people who don't shop in the store and whose cards are inactive - that just wouldn't make sense.
See for example post 133:minimoneyme wrote: »Just received my next set of hot drink and cake vouchers!
Only 3 - May, June and July.
The letter with them says;
We're delighted to enclose you next set of 3 vouchers - more will follow the next time you shop with us using your my John Lewis card.
I did not buy anything using the my John Lewis card - but looks like I will have to to get further vouchers, although it does not mention how much/often you need to spend.0 -

I'm sorry if I'm appearing stupid, but I don't follow that what was posted was someone telling the poster to spend money or there will be no vouchers, especially if you look back at the many more people who posted being told the opposite- that spending makes no difference. Added to that many others who have not used their card at all had been sent a set of 6 vouchers rather than 3 vouchers for some of us who did spend.
I think if your that worried you shouldn't waste your time- the coffee is good and it's great that it's free but I really wouldn't stress yourself out about it. Even on my meagre income (a coffee out is a big treat for me!) it really shouldn't be something you spend over the odds to get hold of. It is just a coffee and if it's available great, if not it's not going to be terrible and if anything is likely to be something you can rectify.
Seriously, the sheer volume of people who have the card- can you imagine what would happen if they suddenly stopped sending out the vouchers without prior warning? It wouldn't be worth it for them to do that! I really wouldn't stress about it.0 -
Thanks for your concern but I'm not stressed or worried about it at all! :rotfl:
It's just that I really appreciate the treat and I'm happy to spend a bit of money there to be sure get it.
I think this is clear warning that we've got to keep spending with JL to get more vouchers:

Quite coincidentally, my OH announced this morning that he was planning on making a purchase today of something that he'd seen in JL. So I gave him my JL card and he's just reported back that someone else in the queue didn't have a card but allowed mine to be swiped on his £35 purchase too. :j
Funny how my OH doesn't normally like using any loyalty cards but when there's free cake involved he's suddenly very willing.:rotfl:0 -

Might it be an idea to just make sure we do spend something even if its only a £1 item - has anyone any suggestions?
You can have your purchases delivered to Waitrose to make things easier.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
