Did you link your online account with your card?

    I've been Money Tipped!
In JL Westfield Stratford yesterday and used my last voucher.
I asked the assistant serving my coffee what was happening about more vouchers and she replied "It's all linked to your JL card, they will look at how much you have been spending in the last six months and give out vouchers accordingly"
Has anyone got any more vouchers who hasn't bought anything at JL in the last six months?

My friend got vouchers, I got vouchers. My friend had spent nothing in years in JL, I'd spent more than I normally spend as I'd needed to buy certain things.

We both applied and got our cards at the same time, we don't live together or even that near to each other.

As others and the staff who are in charge have already stated, the amount you spend is NOT linked to your card, anyone telling you otherwise seems to not know their job...I'd trust the head office staff running the offer above the staff running the store.

Why do you think it would be that JL would not link the card with the amount spent when every other "loyalty" scheme does?

If they don't link, why bother to have a card which they ask you to have swiped whenever you buy in the store or online?

By using the card you are entered into monthly draws, JL use the information gathered about you from your purchases for marketing purposes, I guess they hope when you go in store to get your free drink and cake that you will make a purchase and the free draw is an incentive to use it. There are winners and loser compared to the other loyalty schemes which give you a very small percentage of your purchase spend back through vouchers and points (Tesco, Boots ect). I'm about to do a lot of redecorating and getting new sofas so will spend a lot over the next few months and would lose compared to the other schemes although I would get entered into the draw more often but my daughter who spends next to nothing in JL would win as she probably spends less in a year than what she gets in hot chocolate and cake. I always shop at JL always have so the free drink and cake is just a bonus to me :).

Then please explain to me why my friend (who is in fact one among many I know of in the same situation) gets all her vouchers without spending a penny in JL. Her address has flatmates who also don't shop there, her family do but they don't share her name or live within 200 miles of her. Them and me are the only people she knows of who shops at JL. Why is she still getting vouchers if the card is not linked? And why has the head office already told many calling up that the card is not linked to your personal spending?

I think the question is "why is she still getting vouchers if the card is [STRIKE]not[/STRIKE] linked?".

Of course, originally people received 6 vouchers and have now received 3 (I don't recall anyone saying they have received a second set of 6 - but I'm sure I will be directed to a post if my memory is faulty) whether or not they have spent. What has been written by JL when sending vouchers (rather than as may have been said by a member of staff) is, naturally, to encourage spending and implying that future issues may depend on spending.

However my question had been about your statement that "the amount you spend is NOT linked to your card". It was not about vouchers being linked to spend when using the card which is what you are now writing about.

YES! My friend and her flat (house) mates! None shop there, they all have their second bout of vouchers. I shop at JL and I also have my second lot of vouchers, in my experience of picking up the coffee, they just take the voucher and tear it in two and put it into the bin, there is no scanning of any cards -in fact they never want to even see my card let alone check or enter any details from the card.

Like others have said on here and the head office people have said, the vouchers are as yet not linked to the vouchers and have not been from the start, months and months and months ago.
