Its that time of the year well just round the corner
Im 26, don't have any family or now any friends. I'm just wondering what others do for christmas.
My friend used to come and see me on christmas day for a coffee and that would make me happy. But recently shes told me she doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. So its just me for christmas
Is it really bad that I might just get a take away and watch a film? I really hate this time of the year. If I could work I would
So what do others do?

No it's not bad at all that you may just get a takeaway and watch a film.
It's just another day, and how you choose to spend it is totally up to you.
People put far too much pressure on themselves at Christmas, when really it should be about doing what you want.
We are spending Christmas just with myself, OH our son and new baby this year. It will be the first time ever we haven't travelled miles on Xmas Eve to one set of parents or the other. We decided much earlier in the year that due to having the new baby we were just going to stay put and enjoy a quiet Xmas at home this year.
We will be visiting family and friends from the 27th onwards...looking forward to it all

Xmas can be a difficult time of year for many people. Don't try living up to other peoples ideals of what it should be like. Just do whatever makes you happiest and enjoy the break from work. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

We will be shut down until the 2nd so I will be just sat around until the second. Its upsetting seeing the adverts etc. Its almost bad I am on my own.0

A facebook acquaintance who is alone this Christmas has decided to book a holiday to the sun. Seems like a nice idea if you can afford it.
Otherwise your idea of a good film and food does sound great too. If you are religious you could try Church in the morning. A bit of social interaction.0 -
You could volunteer for a homeless charity.0

i will be out on my bicycle

Can you volunteer for a homeless shelter, OAP dinner club etc.? There are places that would be glad of help and it would give you a focus. (Also see that there are many lonely people out there, who have nothing.)0

My girls are off to spend christmas with their dad, and i tried to persuade OH to take my step son to our holiday home so I could be alone. but he won't go.
It shouldn't matter if you spend christmas alone - as long as you spend the day doing things you like.
If love to, go walk on the beach - or help out at a local old peoples home, or homeless shelter - or paint a picture - or watch films... it doesn't matter.0 -
Yes - volunteer somewhere, anywhere! its not good to spend the day alone! If you have time on your hands then there is a charity or old folks home which can use you! it will be company and could be 'fun'!0

Those adverts are pure fantasy... don't forget that.
In reality there will be arguments, burnt dinners, belly aches, kids fighting, elderly relatives asleep in front of the telly snoring and farting
etc
Enjoy the holiday and indulge yourself.
If you want to volunteer then do that... but there is nothing wrong with spending the day on your own.
Anyway, you can come on here and have a chat; I bet there'll still be a few on here trying to get away from it all.:hello:0
