Hi Geet.

So this differs from the information verbally given to me today, by TWO Customer Service operators.

They say the 4% Cash-Back expires on the 31st July... NOT in October!!!!
...and the 0.5% rate ends in Jan 2010...

I wonder if the 4% offer has been pulled back from October till July????

...anyone else getting any mixed or differing messages??

update...
I am onto Customer Services again...(3rd Time).
The operator is confused and checking it out and has left me on hold...
she came back and told me that the offer was for 6months and 30%... yes 30%!!!

I asked her to confirm if that was 30% cash back and she put me on hold again, before transferring me to a colleague. This colleague turned out to be the automated service on the switchboard... and I am now asking the 4th Person (yes, Nos 4) for the same anwsers.

Again I went on hold. She came back and told me the 4% expires in July 08. I told her that the web page is STILL showing October 08, and I asked them to amend the details on my card as that was the offer they are advertising and they are contravening my rights!

I went on hold again and she came back and told me to write to Barclaycard in the UK as "Over Here, that is all they can see" (she was from the India Call Centre!!)
I said "No" and asked to speak to someone who can make a decision on the phone. She has promised me a call back within 3 hours....

I am exhausted!!!!!

Could be. Or you must have gone thru the website I mention as the third option. Or is it something they let you know only when you get the card? I might know soon for I have opted for the 2% cash back one to go with 1.5% handling fee. Shaky ground...

This doesn't surprise me at all. You might as well call the Speaking Clock for all the good it does calling Barclaycard Customer Services with a question or problem...

30%!!! You should hold them to it! Ask the one who is going to call you in three hours?!! Good luck.

Anyway, it looks like they do not mention cash back in t&c (it is not there in mine and i applied today) just to get around what is on their website. But as long as you can say it was on the website on which you applied you should get the 4% till October. I am wondering if i am going to get any!

to get the 0% for 9 months with 1.5% fee deal. But want to know if you have got any confirmation on the 2% cash back on supermarket and petrol and 0.5% for all other spending. If so, for how long? I chose this for the lower fee and also there seemed to be no limited period to cash back.

Hi Mark, does your t&c mention any cashback? Maybe you should call to cancel in July if they don’t change it to October. I read in some thread – can’t remember for the life of me where – that Barclays offered good deals if you call to cancel. No idea what happens if call goes to call centre in India.

Here is a link to the T&Cs for the 2% Cash back rate. It does state that you cant get more than £15 a month back for your Petrol and Supermarket shopping, and £15 a month for others!

No info about expiry date! You called always phone India and find out.... :rolleyes:

Thanks for that! No, I didn’t see it in the t&c I printed out when I applied. Btw, I was on the Best Balance Transfers Discussion Area just now and I found a post where someone has applied for Barclays present online deal and was told later there is no 0% BT deal!!! A bit confusing.

Well, I waited the 3 hours for the promised call-back from the Barclaycard Customer Services Manager.... No call received!!!

Well, I then waited 3 days.... just in case their was a language / communication issue between me and the India call-centre.
Nope! no one called me!

So I phoned them tonight, again....

The operator has just told me, there was no record of my second call to their call centre!!!!:mad:
....and she has also told me that there is no record of their promised Call-back!!!! :mad:
She apologised!

The advisor then told me that my Cash-back expires on the 31st August!!! Wow!!! An extra Month.... :T
.(...but still not the 1st October as detailed on their web-page. )
When I told her that this was a different date again, she said that the last operator must have got confused! umm you telling me something new, or what!!

....anyway she could not do anything and told me to write into BarclayCards ivory towers, and ask for the Cash-back to be extended.

Well, Its in the post tonight.
... I await the next thoroughly exciting instalment of the devious tactics of Barclaycard, with baited breath.

PS. a tip.....
Its always a good Idea to keep the relevant web-link of pages whenever you apply for something on-line.
So if/when the company actually give you something of a lesser value, you can then quote them the offer you applied for and send them a copy of the link.
