Have looked on their site, but can't see anywhere if there is an annual fee with card - does anybody know?
.
Check the 'Summary Box' tab on their web site.
About halfway down, says... "NO ANNUAL FEE"

Amex platinum and Capital one seem to only pay cashback after on year. Is it therefore prudent to simply stop using them after the trial period , wait for the cashback and apply for another cashback card? Advice please.0

I took out a CapitalOne card to get the cash back (when they were offering 4%) however they only pay out the cash back once a year in January. I made the mistake of cancelling the card as I was no longer using it and now find that I have also 'cancelled' the £73 cash back I had earned.
please beware that earning cash back has strings attached so read through the terms and conditions carefully0 -
I just phoned Goldfish (formerly Morgan Stanley) to enquire when they will be deducting the £20 annual fee from my account, as I want the chance to go elsewhere before that happens.
Lady I spoke to said she didn't think there was a fee and where had I heard that - I said it is actually printed on the back of the statement from you!! It has also been discussed a lot on this site. She asked me to hang on, went away for more advice and then said that due to Barclaycard taking them over there will not be a fee and, if I should happen to be charged one, it will be re-credited.
Still think I will apply for another card though because they are only paying a flat 0.5%. Is the Egg Money card any good that pays 1%? Do they pay the cashback as and when you want it, or do you have to wait for a year?
Many thanks.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Anyone know who will/won't take the Egg cashback card? I'm particularly interested in Tesco.com and petrol stations.
Thanks,
Mimi xWins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
The Egg card is a standard Mastercard as far as purchases are concerned... so anybody accepting Mastercard will accept it.
They pay cashback once a year in March.... so don't cancel it prior to that!Best Regards,

Does the Barclaycard 4% cashback card treat bills such as paying council tax as cash advances?
Thanks0 -

I have used it and applied for the 4% cash-back.
I was approved on-line in 30 seconds...
I will let you all know if it turns out to be the 4% or another card/rate.. (not that I don't trust Barclaycard much, ahem!!)
A couple of points / watch-outs...
- It states that there is no Annual fee. good!
- It also states that the Cash-Back is a Max of £30 per month. not good!!!!!
Now if my Maths is right (and to be honest I am pretty dodgie with numbers!!!) that means a max spend of £750 a month!!!! So it will mean some tough regulation by the wife here, as she tends to go over that! number... regularly!!!!!! gggrrrrrr!!!
Any more tips and info from anyone else...
cheers
Mark
Update....
Card arrived this morning. No details anywhere in the accompanying leaflets that it is a 4% cash-back!!!!
....so I called Barclaycard and they confirmed to me that it is indeed a Cash-back card. The 4% rate is valid till July 31st 08, then switches to 0.5%.
I asked the lass on the phone (from the 'activation' call-centre) to confirm how the cash-back claim works, and her words were, "I have no idea, you seem to know more than me". (oh dear me!!!!!)
I don't get why Barclaycard do not send out any details / information on how the cash-back works, with the card / Pin nos!!! Its almost like this scheme is an after-thought, and they don't really want people like me; who pay their bills off each month and also claims their cash-back!
Anyway I will go for the 4% for the next 2 months (at max £750 a month), then ditch the card and then go for either ...- another card with a cash-back offer.
- or stick with my 1% with Capital One.

Hi All,
I checked the Barclays Platinum offer. The one on their website offers 0% for 14months with 2.9% handling fee and nothing about cash back.
The three links on this site showed as follows:
1. 0% for 9 months with 1.5% handling fee and 2% cash back on supermarket and petrol and 0.5% for all other spending
- thanks to lucy604gym for posting the link
2. 0% for 12 months with 2.5% handling fee and 4% cashback on spending till Oct this year and 0.5% till 2010
– thanks to Neoistheone for the link
3. 0% for 12 months with 2.5% handling fee and 4% cashback on spending till July this year and 0.5% till 2010
– thanks to Springy for the link
I opted for the first - 0% for 9 months with 1.5 handling fee and 2% cashback…. Not sure if I did the right thing but application has gone and will not know for sure what credit I will get.
But did you all know
1. Maximum credit with Barclay is £5000
2. Cash back details do not appear on their terms and conditions
Or is it only in mine?
Thanks
Geet0
