Martc, apparently it is some figure that they have to tell you based on some set of figures that are probably meaningless. I had the same qustion .. if you phone the CS line it has a prerecorded message that explains it.
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
What about the Shell Mastercard from Citi?
You get 6% cashback on Shell fuel and 2% on anything else for 60 days,
then it reverts to 3% on fuel purchases and 1% on the rest.
Good deal?0 -
Mine arrived in less than a week.
When I called I was told the cashback started from the activation date, so I lost no time at all.0 -
Well that was pretty quick. Received our Capital One Cashback card in the post today (sent off application form last Thurs I think). Wondered what the heck it was actually - thought it was my next months batch of contact lenses at first..great big box with foam padding insert! They sure know how to spend your money don't they
Anyway I've not seen anything resembling a direct debit mandate in all of this application process. Martin had mentioned making sure you wrote 'pay off in full' on it, which we plan on doing, but I don't recall seeing anything like that. Do people just have to pay it off manually when they receive a bill each month?0 -
Had Conran it died, went to Morgan Stanley no 3%. Took out Capital One with no problem. First statement received, account start date 13 days before card received or activated, 3 months should be 90 days I only get 77. Statement issued after only 21 days from this start date, payment required within 15 days, credit only 36 days.0

I am tempted by this card - I have just changed my job which means currently I am doing a lot more mileage due to a longer commute. As I will be filling up a couple of times a week, then this card might be worth it for me, at least for the introductory period.
The only drawback is that the cashback rebate must be redeemed against fuel purchases at Shell. I can use a Shell station most of the time as it's close to work, so this might be OK. After all a couple of free tanks of fuel is not to be sniffed at! However a card that pays the cash may be better for most.
I also have a Morgan Stanley - I got it with the introductory 3% offer last year. However I am now only hanging on to it to redeem the cashback in December, and trying to squeeze up to the next multiple of £15!0 -
Sorry you've been dissapointed but credit is not a right.
They can choose to turn you down for any reason they like, same as I don't have to let you in my house and I am not obliged to give a reason.0 -
I am currently a Morgan Stanley Platinum Cardholder and have been since April 2004. I wasn't aware that they are charging an Annual Fee on the card now.
I knew that the Cashback system was changed when it became part of Goldfish Bank i.e. you could redeem the cashback when you wanted instead of receving it on the anniversary of opening your account. However, I wasn't aware that you had to do it in multiples of £15.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of the Terms and Conditions with the details of the cashback system and Annual fee in?
ThanksApparently I am the original tight fisted Yorkshire Man!!0 -

3. No facility for instant payment by Debit Card.
Hi oompah,
You can make a payment by BACS using on-line banking.
It's a "push" rather than a "pull" i.e. you send the money rather than them, taking it, but I've used it reliably many times.0
