They accept debit cards - OK ?
They don't accept credit cards in English stores - OK ?

You already know this. What is your problem ? If you really want to get your point across, Aldi are on Twitter and Facebook, they'll monitor those, they won't be monitoring MSE forums for complainers who don't quite understand their policies. Unlike the rest of us.

WRONG they don't accept all debit cards. Look at the information on their website and in store.

WRONG they DO accept credit cards in an English store in Berwick Upon Tweed.

They accept Credit Cards In Selected South Wales stores but not North Wales stores.

They accept Credit cards in Scotland stores

I am Not sure about Aldi stores in Northern Ireland.

If there are Aldi stores in Northern Ireland are the Northern Irish people treat differently to the English Scottish North Welsh and South Welsh ?

Perhaps the OP should write to the Daily Mail - they could start a campaign to get ALDI to stop taking credit cards in Berwick - I'm sure they could blame it on immigrants or something.

Been reading through this. I too was disappointed at Aldi not accepting credit cards. I sent them a message via facebook. They replied saying they would see about making it clearer to customers they did not accept credit cards.

On odd occasions they do have items over £100 for which paying by credit card could be handy. Not that I would want one of these https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/hurry-while-stocks-last/hurry-while-stocks-last-product-detail-page/ps/p/2500w-garden-shredder/ but some people might and it would be good if it could be bought with the additional protection buying on a credit card gives you.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

What does that have to do with ALDI? Poundland have obviously decide that their business model can support the charges levied by the credit card providers - ALDI England have decided theirs doesn't.

Several posters have suggested that Aldi are at cheap end of the range store
yet POUNDLAND are cheaper yet they accept Credit Cards.

So the Aldi are catering for certain demographics (whatever that means ) is blown away by Poundland whose prices are cheaper on average to Aldi.

Oh forgot to mention, Aldi have free games on their website- haven't noticed any of the big 4 doing that. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/entertainment/online-games/games/

If you don't understand what "demographic" means, you'll never understand why Aldi don't take credit cards.
