Surely if aldi dont want people to use credit cards, thats their right? If you didnt know you couldnt, you know now.
I actually really like aldi. Compared to some other supermarkets the service is good. I much prefer getting my shopping through the till quickly rather than 10 minutes in some of the other stores.
I havent read the entire thread to see if thats the only complaint the OP has about aldi but if something upsets you that much, make your complaint and if you arent satisfied, the sensible option would be to shop somewhere where they do accept credit cards. I would assume lidl do.0 -

So they may very well change to no credit cards in any stores at all when whatever agreement has expired so then 2e0arr will get their wish and all stores will be the same . I love a happy endingI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I cannot beleive this thread, but as I am a bit bored and have just finished my lunch I thought I'd add that, as far as my experience goes, you can't use CCs in Aldi in southern Germany, Switzerland or the Alsace region of France either.

Having finally read all 209 posts this thread has for some unknown reason I couldn't leave without suggesting this. Why not move to Scotland where they take credit cards if you're so offended that you can't use it in England?
My dad started shopping at aldi 15 years ago when he and my mum split up as money was tight. When got himself sorted financially he still shopped there (and still does now) as they offer good quality products at very reasonable prices.
In fact I remember the days the cashiers had to memorise the codes for everything and manually key it in.
I've seen the people who shop there and the number of high end cars parked in the car park so it's not people who are struggling that shop there. I've also noticed over the years just how popular Aldi has become compared to when my dad first started shopping there. No-one else seems bothered about them not accepting credit cards.
I'm now off to finish my can of Diet Red Thunder from Aldi which is much nicer and much cheaper than Diet Red Bull

Probably not true.
I expect it's not to everyone's liking but most people accept that THEY DON'T MAKE THE RULES about what other people/businesses do, but of course can make the rules about where they shop.
Most people have a reasonable perspective about what control they actually have.0
