OK, we get it - you don't like ALDI !

I do not dislike Aldi and I do not have any particular allegiance to any supermarket.

I expect the same benefits and opportunities at every Aldi store I visit in the UK.

This is currently not the case with Aldi and their approach to customer care and response to their customers complaints locally and from their customer service call centre.is very poor indeed..

Wow if this it true i strongly advise Aldi staff to find work at another supermarket !

I suspect that if they did they'd be having to take a wage cut. my understanding is that ALDI and LIDL employees are generally paid more than checkout operators in the big four because they have more responsibility - all their employees are expected to be able to turn their hand to whatever task is needed.

(When I first started going to them many years ago they didn't have any scanners on the tills and the employees were expected to memorise the prices of the entire (limited) stock range, although they did have lsits wher they could look them up if they were unsure.)
Aldi store assistants are paid between £7.70 to £9.20.per hour.

I have never known Aldi operating the price memory system. The only company I recall doing that were Kwik Save and look what happened to them !

Stores are likely to be operated from regional areas that may span geographical borders.. So from a logistics perspective Berwick upon tweed is closer to Edinburgh than it is to Newcastle - so will be served and fall under there Scottish Operations.. The same is probably said for Areas of Wales, where they are served by English counterparts and so fall under there contraints..

That's an unrealistic expectation - all the supermarkets of any chain that I've visited vary from branch to branch - in what they stock, in prices (of some items certainly), in whether they have a car park or not, etc

Expecting everything to be the same everywhere will lead to disappointment

What exactly is wrong with a company setting out to increase its profit? Like it or not, that is their reason for existence and if they get things too badly wrong they'll go out of business

I've no problem with a company setting out to increase it's profit. What I do not like is that since I'm paying for the service, why should I use self-service ? Isn't that like visiting a restaurant and cooking the meal yourself ?

Now if they said that there was a discount for using self service, that would be different. People could then choose to either pay for the service of someone to checkout their items or do it themselves.

You don't get to make the rules (unless you buy a shop and then you can make the rules).
Why not shop somewhere you do like? That's the simple answer.

I think you are guessing do you know ?

Swindon covers the mid to South Wales regions for Aldi yet London is nearer to Swindon than some of their South Wales stores !
Not all south wales stores accept Credit Cards it's a geographic policy that the Aldi staff them selves cannot understand or describe.

Are some Aldis are more equal than other Aldis ?

A very Good point .......Aldi please display the rules in your stores and please let your Customer service know what the rules are for different geographic locations.

convenience for the shopper with their 1 loaf of bread or 1 carton of milk, so they dont have to stand in a long queue of shoppers with a trolley full of groceries.
