That does indeed sound like a nice day :j :j :j Rather like mine actually, which strangely enough also involved sunshine, beach (very unusual for me!), work, plenty of tea, and an unexpected lunch with my little sister :j :j
  • Aw cheery that's awesome - and you bagged a beach and a lunch - result!

I've just done dd's tea for tomorrow (noodles with sticky chilli sauce and chook leftovers and those stir fry veggies) - done my lunch up and sorted a 'reminder brekkie'

The mushrooms are looking suspicous so I think they'll need scoffed - so that's brekkie sorted.

:) I like sorting teas at night/in the morning its just not like cooking more pottering really.

    Off to check that list.....

  • List fine

Some ear splitting debate on STV - minded me on of the wifey's in my grannies close when they were having a wee 'rammy' about their bairns/husbands etc.

Two women, one hot topic = LOUD and wordy.

  • OK, OK, OK

So I've just scoffed a lovely hot roll and slurping a cuppa.

£3 spent (but as I'm at an event its claimable)

Oh the guilt, the guilt the guilt.

And yes I have lunch and snacks in both car and bag.

Bad pippi bad pippi but it was sooooooooooooooo good!

You see what MSE does to you confessional straight after a hot roll.

Make sure you claim it :rotfl:
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • I'm just writing my invoice and doing my expenses so I promise I'll include it!

    :)

Just planning some weekend action if possible I think me and the RG might have a wee jaunt over water but it will only cost me my boat fare (<£30).

    :D

Also have to ring garage - my car is sulking and refusing to go into reverse. Driving around in circles isn't much fun.

Well, not seen as how the rest of my life is generally like that.

  • Perfect tattie scones

    (Makes 24 triangles)
    500g floury potatoes, unpeeled
    50g butter
125g plain flour, plus extra to dust

Ideally use left over tatties or if none, put tatties in a pan, cover with water, salt generously and bring to the boil. Simmer until cooked through, then drain well and return to the hot pan for a minute to dry off. Peel off the skins as soon as you can handle them. Or do a jamie O and keep them on for a more 'textured' tattie scone experience.

Add 40g butter (or use milk) and mash, then stir in the flour and season to taste. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 5mm thick, then cut around a side plate to shape. Dust lightly with flour and p-r-i-c-k all over with a fork.

Heat a large heavy based frying pan over a medium-high heat and then fry until golden on both sides (about 3-5 minutes). Cut into triangles and serve immediately, or cool in a tea towel for later.

Tattie scones, totties, farls or fadges: whatever you call them, we're dong them tonight......with perfect pancakes and my usual 'scone' recipe.

Must write up the pancakes too.
