I diligently shook those corn plants, and they were planted in a square of 10. Maybe they needed more nutrients
Next question....brussel sprouts, love em, but can't grow em  Tried inside and out to no avail. They grow tall and have lots of greenstuff but no sprout apart from tiny buds, any advice, oh greenfingers? Hollyhocks are lovely, we grow them in a sheltered spot.
Good news then Pipps?0 -

Sorry been scoffing chips. (hm)
I (coughs) was given an old sewing machine today.
Does a dance! An old chums cleared a garage and had no use for it anymore, it's dusty and needs a clean but it's gorgeous and hand powered
Brussels will ponder. Sounds like soil issues.
That's for popping in like GP says, it makes me smile and appreciate it v much.
Off to google cleaning sewing machines......any advice greatly received!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

How fantastic! So far as I can recall, beyond cleaning any obviously grubby bits on the outside, the main thing will be to find out where needs oiling, and once thoroughly oiled (the machine, not you) run it for a while on a bit of scrap fabric to let any mankiness shake free. I expect someone with more current expertise than me will have more to offer on this though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

A sewing machine! How lovely Pips:D - I'm so excited for you!:j
Unfortunately no tips on cleaning, but once up & running do keep it well oiled & dust free!
Now tips on sewing - those I can do (Once upon a time, in a country far far away, period costuming for theatre was my thing!) Keep an eye out for fabrics in the womble shop - it's amazing what can be repurposed & upcycled!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Oi Stripes - lob us a chip!
If it is a Sing.er then there is lots of info on the net - the goodly folks over the pond have vast collections of them.
Also, nearer to home, ask on the MSE Sewing Thread - there is bound to be someone in the know on there - or is Keiss on book of face? She'll be able to help
