  • :T To Wik - as Pippi said - Super clever!

:T to Pippi for being eloquent and enthusiastic AND for wearing heels too. Nice one lady - although I'll be letting you keep them, I'm sticking with my flatties and standing on a box when needed! :D

Ahh, yes, the sort of sideways wind that requires cancellation of ferries - not good. Very sensible making it a non-walking day, and congratulations to the hounds for being sensible enough to see it too. (Although I bet the small demonic one would happily have gone for a scamp?) :D

Well done Wik and Pippi both! Always nice to see it becoming a family thread :)

Glad you didn't need to peg down the hounds, that would really interfere with them moving about

You sound really contented with what you've done for the prospective job ... its great to hear xxx

Aw thank you! Hounds sated today with a nice long walk in the still lovely sunshine.

Primulas flowering - seriously too early - clever things.

    How are you doing today?

I like to get my heel wearing out of the way early in the year - then I can make sure I get my welly/walking boot quota.

Sensible hounds - oxymoron and whilst the older prefers 'mainland weather' the younger is indeed deranged.

It's so lovely hearing you sound so positive.

Yay to "comedic" cookery but boo to sideways wind. Good job you've got sensible hounds. :)

I'm not sure the comedic cookery is what I aim for its just my style of delivery it would seem......
    :rotfl:

Ski troosers drying - will get them off in the post this week for the littl'un

    :A

I'm off out delivering leaflets soon - free exercise :D Sorry I should say - PAID exercise.

All miles expensed today so all good.

Grub for tea out of the freezer too.

You see the nights get longer and I begin to annoy you all again with my tigger bounciness :)

Then I am flopping on a sofa, its decided.

I have a long list to sort out put it up this morning and MSE ate my list..

As you say, naughty mse :)

After you mentioned the afternoon getting lighter, I paid conscious attention, and guess what, its really noticeable once you think about it :D

My primulas are coming out too - I've started clearing the patio, which they edge, and *they* were noticeable as well.

I'm good, thanks muchly. Definitely considering a diary now, I've been speaking with oracles on the book of face

well nothing's getting lighter here right now - it's threatening rain and it's been getting steadily darker and dingier since about 3pm! :D I'm hoping it's either going to hold off for a couple of hours to let me get home (the rain I mean, not the darkness, no point in hoping for that not to arrive at its planned time) or release it's entire deluge in the next 40 minutes.

As for hound junior - deranged? Yes, I thought as much, he displays all the signs!:D:rotfl:

:j for free (paid) exercise, petrol-neutral days (mine, today, is not, but most are, so that's OK) and freezer teas! :T

  • Good evening friends new and old (welcome oh lovely artistic pink clogged twice a year one :D I CAN relate to that.)

And the lovely, artistic, pink clogged twice a year one, is the proud owner of a polytunnel too, Pippi.

Actually, Pippi I'm going to do a mini thread hi-jack here (soz!), but pennib if you happen to be reading, can I just thank you for being the inspiration for me *fancifying* the front cover of a note-pad that is pivotal to *project central* at Greying Towers at the moment. I love that you always decorate your work with that 'quirky' font. I think the style - quite rightly - is called 'delightful' and so I was inspired to use that to 'title' up my pad! OK, I remain in awe that you embroider it on most of your work - but pen and ink worked for me this evening :D THANK YOU :D

Sorry oh chef, zerofoodwaster, gardening goddess:D :D- for the hi-jack, but pen's work is soooo smashing :D

Well done on the informal interview - sounds like it was a pleasurable experience - I hope that something good comes to fruition too :D

  • Aw Greying you hijack away - its an open hoose. Where would we be if we didn't inspire each other?

    Morning (ish) all!

I'm having a lazy day at home well lazyish.

A few things to sort out - must have a rake around the cupboards/freezers for grub and make a meal plan.
    Must update financial spreadsheet.
Got some extra pay (£74.34) from other job so need to account for that
Working tomorrow so must sort out a packed lunch (see I'm learning)
Dogs to walk and its persisting down like buckets so not sure I'll get my five miles in today
Some tidying up to do (free exercise)
    And some cleaning
    And finish those job applications
Then some woodchopping and after a shower as I'll be all dusty.
I cut my hair last night and must check again after its washed if its sort of even - I'm no hairdresser!

Thats enough for now - I'm off to find up what everyone's been upto!
    Thanks for popping in!

    Hi Pippi

Don't think I'd be brave enough to cut my own hair. I just leave it grow til I look like a wild woman by which time I hope I have enough money to get a haircut!!

Yay to lazy(ish) days. How's your grocery budget doing?

Starnac I've been doing mine off and on for years - not a fan of hairdressers they do things like talk to you and touch your hair (I'm a freak I don't like it) - but mine is a haystack so no one notices much. I gave it a wee snip before wellyfest - seemed to work :) although I don't brush it much.

I'm a big fan of a ponytail or snipping those split ends very carefully every now and then!

In the winter too I largely wear a hat and pigtails so that covers a multitude of sins!

Have you thought of student nights when the cost is normally low or free?

Or I go (if I get brave and actually USE a hairdresser) and only get a dry trim and that's quite cheap.

I must investigate the money in the purse. I still have some but not much  taking out REAL money has made me really think about my spends. Again this week its fruit/milk etc although I got some reduced milk through the week and stashed it in the freezer so we might manage on the 12ltrs til the end of the month.

    So we'll mainly need fruit.

I'm still under budget but realise its only half way through the month though.

    More cupboard action required!!!!!:rotfl:

    How's yours going?

And in great news of non-treatyness I've lost a couple pounds. (weight not money)
