Yay to weightloss :j well done
We actually have a friend of mine come to the house. She charges £20 for me and DD (DD only has a trim and fringe tidy up), my eyebrows waxed and a bit of a trim for DS so I can't complain really but still £20 is a lot of money that could be used elsewhere
We have £5 and some change left out of £40 so doing pretty well. Our one freezer is now completely empty and switched off (money saving there too) we are literally just buying milk and fruit at the moment. Everything else comes from stores/ the garden. Not much left in the garden now though. Plus my mum gives me eggs from the chickens in exchange for cake
Think we may have to top up the money though as we are only just half way through the monthGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Starnac thank you - you've reminded me that I need to challenge myself to get to the stage of switching one freezer off until we actually *need* it again - that'll save a few cheeky pennies on electrical-juice won't it.
Shopping budgets going well with you ladies. Now sit down for this next bit...I bought a ready meal this morning. BUT, it's part of a product evaluation panel I've been invited on for "thaT Supermarket" so I got the full cost of it refunded at the checkout. Not entirely convinced I actually want to eat it, and I'm damned certain I don't want to look at the ingredient list until after I HAVE eaten it. It's mushroom stroganoff - I thought there was less likelihood of it containing "essence of Horse" if I went for a veggie one. It is, I suppose, free food for tomorrow's lunch....
Stripes your hair is NOT a haystack, it's gorgeous, and with a beautiful wave and a lovely colour. Have you EVER seen a haystack that colour? Hmmm?!Hairdressers though - yes, I'm not keen on going either and for exactly the reasons you mention, plus the hideousness of having to bend your head backwards over a sink while someone runs water into your ears and soap into your eyes. Bleurgh. Not natural and definitely not designed for short people. I usually end up going once a year or so. Oddly it often coincides with a voucher-offer on Groupon... :rotfl:
Oh, as for the raining thing, there is hope, it was coming down like mad here earlier on (just as I started walking into town, typically) but there's blue sky now and even an attempt at sun. :T I'm about to go out again though, so there will be more rain along directly....🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I am indeed working tomorrow so why not there are some perks to self employment :money:I am I've cleaned half the kitchen
Foraged for food and unearthed some meals for next week
Skyped with ds for an hourand he's given me £100 towards his holiday which hrs just transferred, he's a good un
Eaten a sandwich which I'm calling research (chickens been there a while in the fridge and smells ok so I'm being the guinea pig) if I'm not dead later well have it for tea as leftover fajhitas
EH would a 'bracken haystack which is dried' be better more tips that waytotally agree re hairdressers. I thought it was just my oddly coloured hair that make them grump some with me, that and having a thick tangled mess. As for paid research all good
it's still persisting down here.
Starnac that does sound bargainous for all of you.
My money is tight right enough I may need to top up and must count it. We have apples/kiwi but no nananas........
Lots of veg
A fair bit of meat
Meals...main ones
Tatiflette
Fajhitas
Curry prob veggie
Special fried rice
Mussels and pasta
Hearty soup with corn fritters
Risotto surprise
Have a dozen eggs so will make some brownies and maybe scones see how the milk stretches (57p/4ltrs) so grabbed three (there were tonnes there) I only buy local milk so it's nice when you get a bargain.
We might need bread - HOWEVER I am at a learning to make bannocks workshop on Wednesday so I might see how that goes!
Whilst I'm not keen I must go walk el mutts and wrap up. I think we'll call it a free shower eh?
Ps just had a horrid thought, as the new job is largely office based would I have to actually brush my hair regularly? Shudders.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Actually, Pippi I'm going to do a mini thread hi-jack here (soz!), but pennib if you happen to be reading, can I just thank you for being the inspiration for me *fancifying* the front cover of a note-pad that is pivotal to *project central* at Greying Towers at the moment. I love that you always decorate your work with that 'quirky' font. I think the style - quite rightly - is called 'delightful' and so I was inspired to use that to 'title' up my pad! OK, I remain in awe that you embroider it on most of your work - but pen and ink worked for me this evening
THANK YOU
fruition too

Glad I could be assistance GP. It accidently came about when I had little space to put a number of words. So after a bit of head scratching I found that if they were done higgelty piggelty and then had bobbles (for extra effect) they went in the space no problemo. I also realised they can be spread out to cater for larger spaces! win winI didn't know they had a name. How nice that they are called Delightful, seems fitting.
As for hairdressers they never, ever (well apart from once) cut my hair the way I want/tell them so my dd cuts it for me.
Can't wait to get back into the polytunnel. Anyone tried corn on cob growing? Got two edible ones0 -
Pennib sounds like you've inspired a few folks! And when my DD moves on from the current 'teenage' phase perhaps I'll trust her with scissors around me!!
Which varieties are you growing? We grow it at work.....
And I'll certainly be growing it at the new hoose :-) does a happy dance!
In from a blustery walk, but the rain abated just for a bit.
Dear reader I must confess I've gone and driven 7 miles each way to a beach (no expensed petrol) had to be done, will pop myself in the naughty step.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

The question is Pippi - do you abide by the proper naughty step timings??? Ie one minute for each year of your ageGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
