    Updated the finances spreadsheet.

Does anyone else find the up and down and in and out of money in banks/cards etc a head melt.

Just added an extra wee sum bit on mine to give the total od/balances on today's date a punt to see 'overall' if the money is improving/disimproving.

    I know what I mean.

Overall the debts are down and the overdraft/in the black so fluid it hard to see the wood from the trees. IYSWIM.

So now I'm happy that 'overall' things are going in the right direction but sometimes its hard to see that.

    I know I don't make sense.

One thing struck me today - as it does.

I'm not going to earn enough to pay off the debts in the next couple months - I physically just don't have enough money - not if I leave work in say 3 pay cheques.

However, if I get a job sooner than planned the 'urgency' of that repayment abaits somewhat (aside peace of mind) and I still get a pay cheque rather than none of the foreseeable future - which was my original plan to work until I could here and then leave. But now I'm wondering if I'm being sensible. If I found a job the 'gap' is either negligible or minimal.

So getting a new job before I leave is probably the best way forward all round. I have a job here, I need a job there so therefore whilst I'm sort of panicking about not working when I move (and don't dunt me on the head for this one) I'd not really properly thought of prioritising finding a job before I'd left. I'd just assumed I'd have to be unemployed for a bit (which I might be) but perhaps I need to be more proactive, I'm thinking.

Really folks, yes, I'd not thought of it as 'urgent' that I need a new job, just as 'something to do once moved'.

Honestly - yes they do let me out on my own.

Having really thought about it - and I know I'm a 'dunerheid' - I really do need to find a job before I leave OR/AND pay off everything I can before I go (which I can if I stay here til the summer IYSWIM).

Dear lord sometimes I really can't see the wood for the trees.

Expenses will be considerably lessened when moved too.
Aside those pesky university children's needs..................

Dear reader do excuse me - I'm not what you'd call 'blessed with brains'.

And, I know that getting a job will be hard, but isn't there an addage - easier to get a job when you've got one?

Or did I just make that up.

  • Dinner will be cauliflower bake and tatties.

Just, you know, in case you were wondering if I was going to blow the entire cheese budget straight off - I think we will.

No sellotape around the chops, please :rotfl:

Pippi, sounds like a real lightbulb has gone off (well, not a real one, a pretend one, you know what I mean - you've got me doing it now, not that I need much encouragement :D).

Anyway ... yay! If you get a job before you leave there, you have more money! :j

Cauli bake and tatties sound lovely - I *must* go to the shops tomorrow, very little fresh food in the house right now. Hope you're skype-ing with Mr RG right now - have a lovely evening :)

It has and it came whilst chopping logs. I'd had a really heavy 'paperwork' day and dont' get me wrong I love my job.

BUT - for me I've realised that whilst I like 'the nuts and bolts, the paperwork and the strategy/report writing stuff' its often at odds with my more 'get mucky and stuck in' love habit.

Having had a hard day at the books - I went and had a couple hours chopping logs then did a bit of cooking.

For me (and I suspect many others of you) I need a bit of all of it. I'd never be entiirely happy being a paperwork monkey or if I'm honest altogether happy in a job where I'm just not using my noggin and only my meagre muscles.

So I CHOOSE BOTH. So I'll be happy with a muscle job if I can keep on writing etc or happy with a paperwork/office project job if I can also keep getting mucky on their time OR on my own. Taken me many years to find that out about myself.

:) that's my final lightbulb of tonight, I'm too full of cauli cheese.

KC thanks and I hope you find some fresh food soon!

  • Great garden revival has me talking to the TV again. I'm preferring the edibles to the bedding brigade. Some right lovely fruit plants as well.

I think its official, I'm demented.

Off to tackle more of tonights list to keep me in line.

Omigod :j:j:j Ellidee, you have to, you have to! The synchronicity is overwhelming! Greying, brilliant linkie

Pippi, loving the lightbulby effect, we all need that about ourselves. My cat website, for instance, is taking ages to set up, and I'm starting to think it might not be till February now, because of various *ongoing* existing demands - but its what I really want, it gives me pleasure as well as the promise of finding an income in the future, so it'll work for me.

I've set up the DVD recorder to tape tonight's eppy of the Garden Revival - not going to miss the last one! But hopefully they'll do a marathon soon, and I can catch the fruit trees one, or just eat my lunch in the office today and watch it on iplayer :)

    Hope you're having a good'un today - life can be exciting :T
