  • Morning lands and thanks fr the heads up re fuel :-)

Trg has the day off so I fear something on two wheels is in order, then he's off to the lands of the nice cheeses (Norway) this week for a few days so I'm 'home alone'. I'm finding this locked door thing a bit odd.

Must pay rent today last one perhaps for a while, perhaps forever?

Friend delivered fridge freezer so need to arrange up,it for broken one.
Lots of bits in stores but not much fresh until fridge plugged in.

Off to do banks and stuff.

Gives a wave from the misty lands of the kingdom- where IS your sunshine????

Ps had rekkie for interview on sat and met my old tutor who gave me the biggest hug - quite perplexing!! (I still call him 'mr') nice to see him and some good advice from him.

Although 'be yourself' - might not really be the way forward......:-)

    Have a good un.

  • So the local council want me to lug a giant fridge freezer down some stairs and outside through gardens. Etc on a day of their choice for them to collect for £25.

    Um no.

Googled things and gum tree (heard of never used) offered several nice men, with vans wod come pick it up from the utility room for £15

Gramps is up on thurs with a largish car - if we can sweet talk him to gives a wee run to tip (2 mns away) - if not, will book a burly bloke :-)

Who knew you could book burly blokes on gum tree.

This mainland malarkey seems a bit ok after all.

    ;)

Well sorted! Sometimes councils live in a different era, don't they!

And as for "be yourself" - naturally! Though if you come to domestic arrangements, you might not want to call the washing machine "hokey cokey" - it'll really confuzzle them :D:D:D but thats about the limit of it :D

I surely felt the love today. And, an abundance of it.

    :D

Thank you lasses of lovliness. 2.30pm on Wednesday if you can all channel that love towards the south end of the big Rock I'd really appreciate it. And happy to recycle today's well felt love!

So much did I feel the love that I found a house I fell in love with this afternoon and we viewed it. However here's the rub. Its a bit too soon for us to be selling TRG's flat without the love needed to fix it and fix boiler etc. Should be on the market in 2 months.

Enough nagging over here and you just know I'll share a wee photae for the hoosey. (its up on 'the book') Its got a garden and a kitchen to die for and an apple tree.

    Nuff said.

TRG is actually thinking of selling guitars, its THAT serious!!

Up early working and trying to get sorted for a bit of time off later today :)

TRG starts at an ungodly hour so I've been up and about since early doors and have got through a goodly amount of email.

Must do a monthly round up for last month. Rent is paid you'll be glad to hear that we'll not be homeless this month and its the LAST rent payment as landlady agreed to use deposit for the last month.

    Hounds are snoring.

Yesterday also did a goodly amount in TRG's shared communal garden area particular battle was done with a holly and a butterfly bush. But we can now get by the main part without ducking much. Theres an old conifer which is like a giant redwood and unless we want an archway in it, it really has to go. Sad times but its far too big for the space and no amount of remedial pruning is really going to do it much favours. The garden now looks like wimbledom common with brash everywhere. Old fence is out (was rotten) and I tidied up the bins.

    Oh yes the glamour.

Oddly enough if you stack them sensibly you can get passed them.

Whilst I'm sure its only here, seems to me in communal areas everyone thinks someone else's job to make it tidy and able to get by without losing a limb, whilst actually no-one seems to do anything. And, yet they battle passed it all every day.

Five minutes of interference later, peace and harmony restored to the bin area. A wee sweep and it look a lot better than before.

Oh dear, doesn't take much does it to make me happy.

I have to say this constantly locking and unlocking stuff though - not a fan. I know its necessary, but its just hard work.

    OK daft question.

A large 'diy retalier' has approached me about a new growing system for bedding plants..........we got a press release about it at work too.

X&Z has announced that it will replace all of its unrecyclable polystyrene pots and trays for bedding plants with a new fully recyclable ‘teabag’ technology called easyGrow which will see plants packaged in 95% peat free compost. The move will have significant environmental impacts as the 120m plants X&Z sells each year currently generate 22,500 cubic metres of polystyrene ( 87,200 wheelie bins of non-degradable landfill waste) and peat extraction is a significant source of carbon emissions.

They're looking to send out some samples and for them to be blogged about.

Whilst I've never taken freebies before nor promoted anything but grub establishments, I wonder what folks think about promoting stuff.

I guess if they're looking for an unbiased honest answer?

You see offer me a free plant and I'm all weak at the knees. This 'teabag technology' is the same system I've been using for growing and sending plants out for years. Nice that they're finally catching up.

    :D

OK, I'll get me coat now.

I think that as long as you're clear in your blog that they were sent to you for free and that your review is unbiased then take the freebies :D

Tackling recycling issues one day at a time ;)

I've not replied to be honest - and then a giant 'display' teabag and plant nearly attacked me in one of their establishments whilst TRG was on the hunt for a plant for his ma for the mothering day.

    Maybe I should then.

    :D

2 hours work done, time for a cuppa I think. Also wrote up 'allocated hours' for this month and I've only 26 to play with that aren't allocated so I'm not going to stress too much about working full days this week, I might just do half days and crack on with the hoose inbetween galavanting (um I mean attending very important meetings and stuff)

    Any takers.

Must do a list and banks later and find out 'where' to print off my workshop for tomorrow.

I had a mind to bring my own printer down but it was a faff.

I can of course present electronically - but we'll see. I'm not a fan of staring at a ppt if you don't need to. A tad dull.

I've to do a five minute 'idea' for a workshop at the mothership tomorrow so I'm shamelessly (ingeniously?) using one I've done before to also demonstrate my own work at the mo too.

Hey I'm all about the recycling.

I had a mind to take in a fish box with me (we all know how I love them) - but taking a large plastic box covered in mud to an interview, probably not the best really is it.

    :D

Like I say, I'll get me coat.
