This looks like a great price?0 -
If your going to go the Freesat route, I would recommend a Humax box, as they are rated as the best box manufacturer out there. But you have to pay up front.
If you go via the TalkTalk YouView route, it's an 18mth month contract at £15.50 a mth (plus line rental) but its a buy-as-you-rent scheme. So after the contract period expires, the box is yours to keep and will continue to fully function too.
So it all depends on what you want.0 -

Thats pretty good. How much would that box cost me? Its only £8 per month more, so if its more than 18 × £8 = £152, then thats a great deal.
After 18 months I could cut down to the £7.50 deal.
My ariel has been cut off prematurely, so I would have to reconnect the last 10 foot & buy another powerlink adapter as I use mine for the desktop pc at the moment.0 -
Personally, you've done the hard part of moving your broadband to Talk Talk. £8 a month for a youview box is a good deal imho. I just paid £159 for a "graded" Humax Freetime Freesat, direct from humaxdirect. So the price point for either version is about the same. (A brand new Freesat Freetime is over £200 mind you, I've taken a chance on a graded product). It depends if you would miss £8 a month more than £200 up front I guess.0

Humax have the Youview STB Grade A for £150 if you want to just pay up front and not change your contract.

Richer Sounds have a Humax Freetime box for £99.
We have had three brands of PVR and the two current Humax are , by far , the best, having lasted much longer.0 -
