I am such a lightweight. Only 2 cans of Heineken and I am almost asleep :D

Our beach and fish & chips trip was postponed until tomorrow, so fingers crossed that the weather holds up!

It needs a good clean, but it drives lovely! It'll take a bit of getting used to such a high clutch (compared to the Fiat at least)..but NEW CAR!!!

    Hi WTBSE,

I have been lurking on your diary for ages but never posted, it was actually you who inspired me to do my own! And now I wrote on mine that I lurked on yours I thought it would be polite to finally post on yours :o

Congratulations on the new car! That will be a weight off your mind, roll on the next target!

Hiya fishfins :) I do love it when lurkers come and say Hi, it makes me feel like I am less alone on the money saving journey! Wow, I inspired you? I didn't think my teeny tiny diary would ever inspire anyone, thanks so much for saying that :)
I will have to pop over to read your diary and say Hi :)

Waiting for the sproglets to wake up, then am taking the car to get washed and hoovered. The wind is quite bad here today, but I really need to get us out and about to blow away those cobwebs.
Will be able to put £30 into savings tomorrow, as I have a private client.

Forgot to say- I am considering getting my Tax Credits and wages paid monthly instead of weekly. This way I will be able to put away a lump sum every month, and also get used to monthly pay.
Just need to work out if its doable for the first month.

Hi WantToBeSE! Quite windy round here too. But I might lever myself off the couch and go for a run shortly. Hope the new car is running like a dream for you :)

Hope you had a nice run, Cathy! I wish I had the energy too, tattycath!

So, tonight I have put a joint of pork shoulder in the slow cooker and am attempting my 1st Pulled Pork! It'll take 12 hours on Low, so I will turn it onto the 'Keep Warm' setting when I wake up at 7am tomorrow, so it'll be ready for 5pm tomorrow. Fingers crossed it'll work out! The shoulder cost me £3.50 for 1KG..so I am nervous it'll go wrong and waste that money. Keep your fingers crossed please.

I cant believe that half term is almost over!

ha ha, after all that, didn't go for the run :) I went and had a nice lie down instead. :o I'll go tomorrow though (I promise) :)

WantToBeSE, I bet you anything the pulled pork will be yum. Are you using a particular recipe? Just asking out of curiosity really. I've never tried making pulled pork per se but have slow-cooked meat - really delicious and quite easy.

Not really a recipe per se, but this is what I am doing:

    1 onion, sliced
paprika, cumin, garlic, salt, pepper (rubbed into the pork)

Put the pork on top of the onions (inside the SC), then put on Low for 10 hours.
Then, 'pull' it and add BBQ ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce and a bit of mustard.

It is a bit of a cheat, using BBQ ketchup, but the only other thing that I have found that comes close is 'Liquid smoke' given to me years ago. I cant find it anymore! So BBQ ketchup is an OK substitute.

I haven't included any quantities either, as it tends to be 'A dollop' of this and 'a squirt' of that...you know how it is ;)

I have decided on this recipe after researching loads of pulled pork recipes online :) I hope it works!
