It's become an appeal. Quite a wide window and not too long to wait
    14/4 to 31/7/14

That was the likely outcome especially as the Judge said that it was finely balanced. Unfortunate about the further delay though as the cases will remain stayed. But if the appeal is dismissed, brilliant. My gut feeling is that the Court of Appeal will say that Judge Platts went a bit too far.

That's bad news for a start!

Hope not. That wouldn't sit too well with Wallentin!

    And so it begins ...

This is no surprise at all, of course. But my tuppence: Huzar did go further, arguably, than Wallentin (even if the judgement brought clarity). The Court of Appeal cannot row back to disown Wallentin - so that's safe (as Jim Bowen used to say). So the question, to my mind, is what will the Court say about the different elements of the Wallentin test - will it expand upon, for example, what is meant by "inherent"? I think the narrative in the judgement will be as important as its operative conclusions.

A result by July is not a bad outcome - I was expecting something much later.

My last comment: good luck Tyzap, Socrates and Coby! We're behind you all the way!

The week after the Dawson appeal. Should be an interesting May then.

Although I suspect this case is of interest perhaps to too many people to warrant risking rocking up on the day to watch -and be sure of getting in (although I may change my mind and give it go) it's an interesting visit at any time to see how justice works at this level.
I visited a few weeks ago and found it far more compelling to watch than our visit later in the day to the Old Bailey to see Rebecca Brooks and co in the phone hacking case.

Hi, Did they enforce the no mobile phone rule, or was it ok just to have it switched off?

Just switched off :D (Oh the irony )
It was incredible the number of people in the court as every defendant seemed to have an entire team sitting there. I felt a bit sorry for the jury - this case is endless.
