IN THE MATTER OF
CLAIMANTS: VAUBAN'S MSE FRIENDS
V
DEFENDANT: PROFESSOR THE LORD VAUBAN
DEFENCE STATEMENT
1. The matter is not admitted.
2. Bott and Co have a presence in Manchester, as well as Wilmslow, so it is entirely appropriate to describe them as Lancastrian, not withstanding any links to Cheshire (which are not admitted).
3. As the witness statement above attests - both Mr. Clarke and Mr. Benson are of essence and origin Lancastrians.
4. Further, Wilmslow is really part of the Greater Manchester conurbation, and has effectively therefore been absorbed by the Grand Duchy, whatever officials in local government may contend.
5. In the alternative, "Lancastrian lawyer" has a alliterative quality that "Cheshire lawyer" does not. Therefore the Defendant contends that the principles of poetic license take precedence over any geographical inexactitudes.

1. The claimants contests the defence statements as set out below.
A) The defence made the statement that "Lancastrian Law Firm" This is incorrect as the law "Firm" as a whole has based it's Head Office in "Cheshire" any sub division or division take instructions from said office, therefore the statement Lancastrian is wrong as should be classed as such. The defence claims that both Mr. Clarke and Mr. Benson are of essence and origin Lancastrians. The claimants contests as the said defence stated "Firm" which does not implie employees of such included. Individuals are not included in said statement as implied by the defence.
C) Wilmslow, and Greater Manchester are place names and do not form part for the benifit of the counties or "shires" the correct term as stated in the doomsday book is Lancashire and not lancaster of that being the "place" rather than the "shire"
D) The claimants contests poetic licencense be allow until such leave to appeal has been given by the court in question.

This is a strategy with which most of us on here are already wearily familiar ...
