What do you mean by spec applications?
these are when you send a cv and covering letter to an employer enquiring if they have any jobs. if you have their email you can do it for free via that. otherwise its the old fashioned way. in my opinion the old fahsioned way has a better chance of success because they are more likely to keep you on file.

More like less likely to read and just put in the bin.

60 letters sent when on the WP in the last few weeks and no replies at all, where as when I email specs I get at least 50% reply rate.

So speculative then. Ok, not sure why these would need to be sent as a hard copy.
  • i think i have already said it is not me subject to the 35 hour rule.
Then feel free to pass on the useful info to those you represent.
  • it served the purpose to make a point that is understandable for most. so not irrelevant.
    Irrelevant an moot.

JSA is what it says on the tin. Open then tin and you'll find stuff inside you'd expect to find like:
    • be able and available for work
    • be actively seeking work
    • go to a JSA interview
    • JSA interview
    • take steps to find work - eg improving your skills
    • improve your chances of getting a job - eg get help on writing a CV, preparing for interviews, looking for work

....This is called a ‘Jobseeker’s Agreement’.

Your JSA may be stopped if you don’t follow your agreement and can’t give a good reason.

Do you disagree with any of these facts?
  • no, however long i have had the net at home makes no difference in my case. the time will come when i cant afford it if i am out of work. thats guaranteed.
A quick look at your posts indicates you've been job seeking for several years yet still have broadband. It seems quite reasonable then, that if at some point you can't afford broadband that you will have had reasonable provision given for long enough and can't subsequently complain about your situation.

The chance of success is more likely to be determined by the content of the CV rather than the media it's communicated by.

    No email address.

Some employers ask for jobs applications (cv, cover note, downloaded forms maybe) to be sent by post too.

Spec CV's/Letters are not job applications though and if you can find the HO postal address you can find an email address IMO.

I've trawled through yell.com looking for company's or other potential employers to send spec letters to and there are quite a few who don't have email addresses - - - actually :p
