like a dope i paid the bill straight away before reading up about it, the bank wont stop it and say they will have to confirm a refund :/
my question is what chance have i got getting my money back or is it going to be way too much hassle?

This question should be in a new thread, but, if by 'bill' you mean Parking Charge, there's little point in a new thread. Your main options are to either swallow it or chance your arm in the Small Claims Court - but you'd need to educate yourself about all things PPC, PCN, PoFA 2012 and Contract Law - a point at which you don't presently seem to be.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have been a customer of Lidl in Chepstow for 13 years ! Four and a half weeks ago I parked in a mother and child parking space (there were 4 others vacant) dashed into the store - as I was in a rush, shopped, came out after 8 minutes to find that some amazingly ugly female creature wearing a Hi Viz vest had stuck a ticket on my 14 year old Jaguar.I approached her and we had "a few words".All "Brain of Britain" could say was that I had to ring the number on the ticket.Instead of that I sent the ticket with a letter to The Manager, saying that it was a mistake - not to be repeated - and in view of my loyalty to..please let me off.I heard nothing from anybody.I then sent a further letter this time to The Regional Manager again I heard nothing. This morning I spoke to the acting Manager (who knew all about the letter) telling her I was NOT GOING TO PAY THE FINE ! Guess what she said. She said "that as the carpark was no longer owned by Lidl it was nothing to do with them".I said we will see about that ! So Eurocar Parks approached Lidl offering them money - a management fee - to take over the running of their carparks. Anything over and above the fee by way of fine revenue is therefore bunce to their P/L.Well they are not going to screw me I can assure you.Thank you MSE for all the valuable info you have here on the site in respect of cowboy parking operators it will be of great use to me ! As to how Lidl treats it's loyal customers - well - I'll leave that up to you to decide.By the way I am an OAP of 71 years old.How can I afford to pay £90 ?

Scrooze24£, you need to start your own thread for advice as you need to appeal this PCN.

Have you received your notice to keeper? If so, when did arrive.
If the manager won't cancel you need to appeal to beat the ticket.

Post your answers on a new thread so that we can help. If you have been writing all these letter I am concerned the window for appealing is running out.
Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.

On 8th June I parked on a Moto mororway parking.
I don't deny that I stopped there but not only had I not noticed any signs. (it was late at night and I was tired which is why I'd stopped).
The main thing that bothers me as well as the notice itself is that I only received their notice today for the first time.
In the notice it says I was sent a first notice on 18/06 and a reminder on 05/07 neither of which I'd received
I have had letters arrive nearly a week late before now but never anything lost altogether.
For two to go missing in the post each a month apart is a bit strange
I find it hard to believe that they were actually sent at all
Now they are asking me to pay £120
I'm wondering if this is a tactic to delay my possibility to appeal and to up the fine
I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience like this and to know where I stand
Welcome to the parking forum, vinylmusic! I have seen your posts elsewhere, maybe in the vouchers forum or comps board, ages ago when I wasn't pretty much permanently ensconced here on the parking board helping people instead?!
You need to start your own thread on this part of the forum, as the parking board has to keep 'one case one thread' as a rule, to help people.

It's not a fine. If you look at the forum stickies I am sure you can resolve this. Read:

    1. the 'newbies' thread at the top which shows you exactly how to appeal, even late!

    2. Crabman's forum stickies (third thread from the top, now), go to his link to: 'Successful complaints about PPCs' and read post #3 there where I list who to complain to. Moto is featured and their top banana has stated that if people fall asleep and overstay he WILL cancel their charge. So write and tell him what's happened and say you were tired and probably fell asleep, but are also mortified that the parking firm is saying they sent letters which they certainly did not and you have no postal problems at your house. Ask him if he can please step in for you as a Moto customer who was tired and is now feeling harassed beyond belief! All you want is the charge cancelled under the circumstances or failing that, a chance to appeal, as the recent letter is the first you knew about it and this firm is no longer offering you POPLA as an option which is wholly unfair.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I have tried to follow the action shown but have run in to a problem and don't know how to proceed.
I have received a solicitors letter out of the blue concerning an unpaid parking charge from 21/10/2012. I know nothing about this. I have never received a ticket nor any other correspondence.
The solicitor is writing on behalf of UKCPS and relates to parking in a disabled space and not displaying a badge. I am disabled and have no way of knowing whether my badge was displayed but would bet money that it was.
I have been in touch with the managers of the car park and they have told me that in 2012 the car park was operated by Dickens World, an attraction on the site. I have phoned them and have been told that they went bust in 2013 and whilst they are trading now they have no knowledge of anything prior to 2013. I went to the POPLA site as that was what the thread tells me to do but I have to have made an appeal before I go to them. Do I do this to UKCPS ltd or the solicitor? the letter from MIAH , the solicitor give me 14 days and their letter is dated 26th Sept.
Where do I go from here?
