Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you to Natty for last week's thread

There are 3 levels per day with depending on how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up.

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week:

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

    Hello...I found you :)
I like that Monday is the kitchen as its had a bit of a blitz today and is the worst place to keep on top of.

So here we go, I'm on the late shift at work this week so will be up at 7.30am but not out to work til 11.15am so I'm hoping to get stuck in and make some headway :)

I'm in for the challenge too, I will be decluttering the huge pile of magazines piled up in my box room to the recycling and getting ruthless with the rest of the junk lying around. I will aim for 15 things to the bin, 5 to the ebay/carboot box and wave goodbye to the magazines :)

  • I'm a long time lurker on the weekly Flylady threads, but this week I'm going to say hi and join in. Having had some bad news in this last week, I now need to get my house and life more organised so I can accommodate the changes the bad news brought with it. Bring on tomorrow, I'm actually quite excited to become a Flylady!

Thanks to Dusty for the new thread and to Natty for last week's.

I can start the week with you all in the kitchen.

Thanks too for starting us on a new personal challenge for November Dusty. Mine (apart from continuing SW - I am aiming to lose another half stone by Christmas, bringing my total to 2 stone) will be to empty and freecycle at least 20 packing cases, which will mean that we will have to have finished decorating the upstairs rooms by the end of the month. I'd like to get the lounge done too, but might not manage that.

Dancemum, sending posivibes to you and your parents.
Jazee, glad you've had some good days with Sick Dog.
Skinty, hope your BD finds a bone to chew on and ignores you this week.

I had a tiring half term looking after DGSs 1+2 for 2 days at their house and then DGDs 1+2 for a day in our house, which is not at all child-friendly at present. Today I had a phonecall from my niece which resulted in an unplanned visit to my sister, but I'm glad that I went. Tomorrow I am meeting our brother, as he is coming to visit our sister too. That takes another day out of my week, and we are going away on Friday for a long weekend.

Tomorrow the plasterer is coming to skim one of the upstairs bedrooms. Atm DH is still filling holes left by the electrician.

Hugs, sticks and spoons to all who need them.

Half term has gone far too fast and I'm not really organised for this week :o Thankfully, I'm not teaching tomorrow afternoon so I can sort myself then!

I have almost got the front room decluttered so my November challenge will be to sort and declutter my bedroom including going through ALL wardrobes and drawers!!

  • Hi all - I'm back and I'm in! I dropped off the thread as my baby was two weeks early in the end and we were in hospital for quite a while, before finally being let out on moving day - we were cutting it fine, so that was always going to happen... Anyway, I have a 5 week old baby and a slightly disorganised new house and no broadband for at least another month, so I've bought a dongle as I need the internet and I need this thread! It really helped get me organised before the move and the baby which was very lucky given the timings!

Thanks for posting the list - I'm looking forward to getting started in the kitchen tomorrow!
