Hi buffy - hope you've managed to get some rest by now. Stop trying to be someone else and just be you. From reading your diary and your comments on mine (and other people's) you are already a lovely person why would you want to change? But I do know what you mean - I get angry with myself at times too and try to change my ways, so it's only natural to feel this way. I think if you're unhappy with a situation, if you can do something to change it then do it, but if you can't then forget it. Life's too short!

Hope 2014 is good to you Buffy! SAxxx

  • Hello,

Well, I spent much of the day asleep! from about 11 I think? till 5?

Was very ill with the period pains from hell, am fairly convinced this isn't normal. Sick with pain? high temp? lasted about an hour constant cramps. Will make a doctor's appointment. ugh.

After sleeping for so long I feel LOADS better and the pain is more of a dull ache now, I ate my tea ok so I figure the worst is over.

    Moving on........ and thinking aloud.

    Am contemplating many things.

    1. 0% offer for an cash advance from my cc

till July, could borrow and it buy the car - may double my debt. would double the debt. Could I pay off an extra 4000 by July? my other card (current debt) finishes in Oct.

have decided it would be unsafe to use my savings as they are my fall back if I don't get another job.

    2. the new car
3000 unknown for insurance sort of thinking about 1000? no idea whatsoever!

    3. the coming year.
job finishes in July. I took a short term job so as not to be tied down. I would like to be out of debt by the time it finishes. free to do what?

    see no.4

    4. home ownership or travel ( the constant battle in my head some where)
I don't know which to aim for. I am feeling a bit like I don't want the pressure of either!

    5. the state of the house
Well this is a positive since Mum has acknowledged we can't live like this - struggling to find stuff, the house is not dirty and by the standards of the programmes we see on TV it is nothing - probably just a little more cluttered than normal but is certainly NOT how we used to live. It is a result of this lack of decision thing we both have. Still I did a lot of work pre Christmas and she loves it so we have an incentive now.

I want to eat Chocolate. lots and lots.

I think in the end I will focus on
    1. finishing my dissertation
    2. paying off the debt
    3. saving. 5000? by the end of the year - only another two to find since I have 3 ish already. that would be job dependent.
    4. finding a new job?

    challenges for 2014

    1. 50p savers
    2. 365 days, already got the account so will keep that going
    3. 52 weeks (up to week 19) (getting tough)
    4. Sealed pot challenge 7
    5. payment a day - will sneak back, was on it for about 5 mins ages ago.
    6. Frugal Living 2014
    7. Pay off all your debts in 2014.

    Seven seems a lot!

time for more peppermint tea and matchsticks (just retire me to home for the bewildered now!)

Yeah, think I might, I could manage it once a week.

Period pains in full swing now as are the miseries!

Still I do know rationally that my period amplifies what ever I am feeling sad about. Currently this is seeing my oldest friends next week. I just want it to be over. I should be going out and getting the rest of the presents I need but cannot think of moving so will have to go out tomorrow.

think it will just be dvds and chocolates. and maybe an amazon voucher.

    need some food.

  • Right.

This is my Scarlet O Hara moment!

Depression is one part of me and some times it kind of blobs out all the other bits of my life. It is blobbing all over the show at the moment and making me feel like !!!!.

SO regardless of how I actually feel or think I feel I need to have some kind of coping mechanism for this.

For example normally when I am at work I ensure I plan my lessons and can get through the next 1,2,3 hours when I feel like this.

However in my new job I am finding that harder, I want to leave - I don't have such a sense of responsibility or link to the new place. This is good for my stress levels and approach to the job but means I ruminate a great deal.

will have to finish this later. Mum wants something.
