Ouija boards: stupid toys used by stupid people.
ok, im going to tell you something and im going to put my hand on my heart and swear on the bible now. This is true what im going to say. Believe it or not as this as you say is only a stupid toy. But would love to hear any explanation you could offer me.
I went on a board around 2 years ago, my father died 4 years ago this new years day coming up.
I was invited to a Ouija meeting by some people who were quite knowledgeable about this kind of thing, I only went on it as i'm a non believer and love to catch people out. I was told my dad was in the room, great I thought, never spoke to him much when he was alive so this was going to be fun. I was told to ask my father a question no one in the room could possibly know. So I thought quite hard and asked my dad what song was playing on the hospital radio in the ward the moment he died. No one could have know this and lets face it there are millions of songs to choose from. I had my finger on this glass but it was on so lightly that if the glass moved my finger simply slipped off. I also watched everyone else's fingers on the glass hoping to see one nail go white with the pressure of pressing. No one on that glass knew the answer. No one!
So I asked my dad the question, my wife was stood back from me but watching, she had no contact on the glass but knew the answer to the question I asked my father.
Soon as I asked the question and bare in mind I was watching everyone else's fingers and paying no attention to the letters (I didnt even know where the letters where placed) As soon as I asked the question the glass began to move in a steady pace.

Belief in the reality of Ouija boards is no different from belief in spirits, fortune telling, fairies, or of course gods. None of them are real. They are all within your own head if you choose to subscribe to any of it. The irony of the 'warning' is that the poster concerned just happens to subscribe to a different branch of superstition, therefore feels justified in running down what is just another imaginary idea, no more or less valid than her own.
I presume this is aimed at me.I am along with others pointing out the dangers, if people want to ignore me that's up to them.
Its a dangerous thing though isn't it messing about on these things and finding out things that as the OP says using against them.
Its like not liking someone and believe in Ouija boards or not if something comes through such as Mr Jones is looking at !!!!!! on the computer so lets report him, or as im my other reply Mr jones is having an affair lets tell his wife, then the wife chucks him out.
If some people actually believe in this stuff they will follow what they believe and use the info as if they are the messenger of the spirit world. Its all bizarre but potentially dangerous if you want to believe.
Very true.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

So what are these dangers? You didn't bother replying to that question.
It is a toy made by a toy company, just like Monopoly or Cluedo. It is for amusement if that's your sort of thing. But please don't tell me anybody takes it seriously. Unless they already have some sort of delusional illness.
What next? A warrant for the arrest of Professor Plum!:rotfl:Dangerous toys used by stupid people.
Dangerous toys are those with small parts, sharp edges or toxic paints. I am not aware of Ouija boards having any of those problems.
I wouldn't use one of these myself, but the I don't subscribe to any supernatural nonsense. The people doing the 'warning off' would seem to be subscribers to another brand of superstition, usually 'god'. What hypocrisy!:doh:0 -

I played it unwisely as a child in my friends house. I was about 10 and we got Jack the Ripper. We didn't know who Jack the Ripper was.
Just the two of us playing and blimey we were amazed at the speed the glass went to spell the words.
In the end the name it spelt out didn't spook us (as I said, we didn't know who Jack the Ripper was) but the speed of the glass when neither of us was pushing it did. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
