I'm not on the forum very often, but wanted to say this is a great idea! I'm guilty of this to be honest. I get beauty boxes and end up with a huge hoard. I'm going to be putting some in hampers for christmas. I've at least stopped buying shower/bath products till I've used up my current lot. I've gotten through all of my bubblebath.. then a friend gave me a load of lush stuff as her flat doesnt have a bath! Bonus. I was about to buy some more bubbles! Getting through washes/showergels/scrubs now as well. This time last year, I had such a huge hoard, I really couldn't choose which to use.. Promising myself I'll at least empty one before going on to another. I have about 8 full beauty boxes worth of samples untouched and then loads of half used stuff that didn't fare well with me.. I really need to whittle this load down! I'd probably save a fortune if I shopped the stash! Though most the skincare stuff, I've gotten as freebies in boxes and the like... *gulp* I'm so guilty of hoarding... I'll try to change that.. watch this space.. >.>

Welcome Trapnest. I know what you mean about the beauty boxes. I buy Birchbox for my daughter as she has a beauty blog and (here's the sad part where I try to justify the spend) I like to get her new products so that she will keep blogging and enhance her Personal Statement for college/Uni!! :rotfl: I am now in the situation where she keeps coming to me saying I've tried this and don't like it so therefore it's another IN added to the list. Good luck with the challenge though and keep posting.

I was reading sam's post in which she quoted the Ilona rubbish. This particular bit made me laugh out loud:

"I just have a few items which seem to last me ages because I don't go mad splashing things about"

Does she have this image of us all standing outside the house in a Hazmat (sp?) suit spraying down the bushes with EDT to get rid?
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Misread bit in bold as spraying our bushes?! Had a scary visual of being naked on the pavement in front of my house, splashing it all over!!

Still, it would use up the stash... ;)

Not wishing to be an enabler, but Nail Polish Direct have a sale on OPI polishes, mostly £6.95, some old favourites, but newer ones like Berlin there done that, just in case you NEED to replace any. LOL
(36 pages of polish and treatments)

Just gonna have little sneaky look and try to be good! Have you seen that it's the Christmas Elemis TSV on Sunday. I have informed MrM :rotfl:

Without this thread I'd be mindlessly buying more and more, if only for the reason that I didn't know what I had before and I didn't stop to think.... I guess I'm just a born hoarder, OH goes mad at me as I won't throw boxes away for things, hairdryers, straighteners and the like and he can't understand why :o My answer, JUST IN CASE!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, I'm the same. Without this thread I wouldn't think of beauty items as a considered purchase (which they can be, can't they?) and would just splurge!

You naughty girl I meant the bushes outside as these are considerably bigger!!

  • Two more UUs on returning to Oxford -

    16. This Works Daily Boost Body Scrub - WNBA, this actually doesn't work. Not scrubby in the slightest. Gorgeous smell though!
    17. Bio Oil 200ml - WMBA, if in risk of scarring, but I don't like it as a general moisturiser, takes too long to sink in! Only one more bottle of this to go!

Love the sound of the piggy lip glosses.

Do you remember the name of the Jessica nail stuff you tried that had a rough finish? I have two nails that will grow with the help of Nail Envy, but the tips stay weak and I need something really tough to use on them while the nail grows out and wondered about trying it, but cannot remember what it is called:(

    Hi all,

Wow I had lots of catching up to do today! Hugs to those who are unwell or just feeling a bit miserable. I was sorry to hear the tales some of you shared giving the background leading to you joining this thread.

I have another two UUs from my list:

    10. Sanctuary Intensive Rescue Heel balm 75ml - WMBA, very moisturising, but have lots of hand and foot creams to use first.

    11. No7 facial after sun 50ml - WBA but no need as have another in the stash ready for next year's holidays. Nicely moisturising and a hint of shimmer, which I like when tanned.

So halfway through my PP and halfway through the month!

I am sooo pleased it's the weekend, what a horrid week. I have my wedding make-up trial tomorrow and, whilst excited for it, I am worried the sight of the many make-up goodies will lead me astray...

    Good weekend everyone :)

Well I was hoping to use up a spluttery hair conditioner this evening but this afternoon I noticed the house was very cold. Heating was switched on but radiators were cold. Checked the boiler and it was leaking so the pressure had dropped. So with no hot water or heating  I think I'll give my hair wash a miss tonight.
On the plus side, I can use some dry shampoo which I never use!
    Every cloud... ;) :rotfl:

    Brrrrrr....:xmassmile

  • UU BS almond hand and nail cream. I liked this, it did a nice job, and i'd be happy to receive another one as a gift. At the end of the day though, it costs £5 for this 30ml hand cream, while my usual hand cream costs 75p for 70ml, and those numbers just don't add up! I would buy it if it was on a good offer, but not at full price.

I have 3 more BS hand creams to get through before I look for a replacement.
