One person has almost 400 items in her stash. It must take them ages to type out their lists. Chuffin heck. Why would anyone need that much?

    Talk about missing the point!

No-one NEEDS anything other than soap and toothpaste! But we all enjoy having different products for different uses, and I very much doubt she 'needs' many of the things she spends her money on. There is a big difference between need and want after all.

I may be in the minority but I confess to finding it all rather funny in an odd sort of way :)

  • Uus: Sally Hansen 2 in 1 top and base coat. Bought another one to replace it.

Ins: Revlon Tangerine blush pad. Unfortunately this is not my colour, it appears ashy on my skin. Might have to be a TA or GA.
5 x Carex handwashes: On special offer in Lloyds pharmacy. We've run out and have been using baby bath so I'm sure it will be used up son.

TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box. Mine came today. Givenchy. This month you could pick from four with no guarantee of getting what you requested.

4 in 1 mascara, lipstick, a perfume and a men's sample. They are all deluxe sample sized.

I'm looking forward to trying out the lipstick.

I'm sorry I'm such a wolf and led a pack to tear a poor blogger to pieces. NOT. It was a nasty, judgmental piece of writing and I'm leaving her response on my blog so the world can see what she's really like. I'm actually wondering if one of the mods from this site went there and had a word with her.

Rats, just lost a longish post, I'm using Opera as my browser and it just threw a wobbler.

IlonaRN posted here regularly at one time. Why have a go at us now and become all holier than thou, Ilona?

I suppose it's the same as reformed smokers being the most zealous anti - tobacco agents you'll come across.

I long at times to be like my beautiful inside and out former colleague who is very conscious of consumption in all forms and has literally a handful of toiletry articles.

I would love to be so minimalist, but part of me loves pampering too and I KNOW it does me good to consider that I deserve it, as a bit of an ugly duckling in my early teens.

I am getting there, I've settled on ideal products for my feet (Nivea, wish I'd discovered that it was better than any foot cream years ago), deodorant (Mitchum, though I like Sure Maximum as well) and lotion/light body cream (Avon Care Rich Moisture Family Cream and Nurturing Body Lotion).

UU Dove Silk and Shine shampoo, part of Project Pan - passed on to me as unloved.
WIB? No, it's too heavy for my hair, which was a little sticky and weighed down using this. Lovely texture, looked like it would be great, but it's too much for very fine, normal-ish hair - it's meant for dry hair, though this isn't evident from the front of the bottle.

I can't help wonder why so many of us have had our hair go black / dark brown when using a much lighter colour. Wonder what happens to cause that?

  • Still unable to post links, so my November stash photo (and a mid-month follow up photo) will have to wait until a later time.

I've used up only 9 of 111 things from my stash ... and the month is half over! Then again, I'm steadily chipping away at a number of the remaining items, so perhaps there will be a spike in use ups over the next week.

In any case, 111 items ... even though many are travel/ sample sized ... might have been a bit ambitious for a month! We'll see how things go.

    Keep it up, everyone :)

I'd say just a smidge, albeit well intentioned! :):o I usually have a good uu rate of about 25-30 a month which includes lots of travel sizes and sachets.

Glad it's Friday, I've worked quite a few hours overtime this week, in addition to my daily 3 hour commute and I just want to go back to sleep this morning.

Me too Kadison, when considering most of the stuff I am trying to get rid of is stuff that was bought in bulk on special or BOGOFs and all sorts cos it was cheap and seemed like a bargain at the time. Seems that lady is mean by name and by nature! I'm sure if we were similarly compiling lists of our stockpiled dried peas, margarine tubs, tins of beans, lentils and pasta then we would be commended. :D

It's taken a stocktake to make me realise that I had a lot of pink candles and don't wash half as often as I think I do. It's often not until you see it written down that you can see the reality; that the litres of shower gels, moisturisers and face washing gear will last a lot longer in real life than the do in our head. ;)

Life's too short and I have had my times of scrimping and no longer drink or smoke, don't buy expensive food, clothes or shoes and only really in recent years have I ever dared to look, far less afford some higher end beauty counter products, rather than soap and water. I now have a lot of catching up to do and need lost of stuff to try and stop the rot. :D

If I want something nice I will find a way to justify it and will scrape together vouchers etc. to get good skincare products etc. I know I can't stop the clock but enjoy trying to make the best and preserve what I do have - cos I'm worth it! :T

I have a little IN and am most pleased that I managed to blag another freebie 7ml sample of Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus from the counter today and managed to walk away without buying anything.

  • Are you sure it's IlonaRN who writes the blog McCulloch? I was trying to search for her and there were quite a few Ilona's and ilona's on the site. Anyway, while searching I got the impression the blog belonged to just Ilona, not IlonaRN.

    Morning Ladies,
    How are you all?

Well I went into town yesterday, and despite looking around the toiletries section in John Lewis, TK Maxx (twice!:o) and Boots, I bought nothing. :T.

Haven't used up anything yet, but I have a few splutterers so I'm hopeful I will soon...

I did give away 5 items to my mum, though:

    1. No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense day cream (50ml)
    2. No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense night cream (50ml)
    3. No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense serum (30ml)
    4. I Love Vanila Ice Cream body scrub (200ml)
    5. Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating wash (236ml)

1, 2 & 3 WNBA - these were inherited from my step-mum and I still have more unopened pots of the creams but they seemed to make the skin on my face bumpy so I've been using them on my neck instead. Too expensive to throw away so I hope my step-mum wouldn't have minded me passing them on to my mum. Serum was too siliconey for me so gave the last unopened one to mum too.

    4. WNBA - bought 2 of these in Poundland as I love vanilla. Too sickly sweet even for me so gave new one to mum. Still have an open one so watch this space...

    5. WNBA - so over my Philosophy skin care phase! Did like this but I'm now using exfoliating toners rather than scrubs so it's kind of obsolete for me now. Still have one in stash which I'll probably eBay when I get round to it.

So new total is 301.

    Have a good day. :)
