You obviously cant read. My original post was to complain about how bad the system was. Nowhere have I said that it was a good system. If you would like to debate the system then feel free but why post if you are not interested in discussing the system ?
 I can read.
If children are not living in the family home at 16 then there are bigger problems than whether they are entitled to the EMA or not.
You say on another thread your partner earns £40,000 per year & you earn to. You should know from that you are not entitled to the EMA.
I'm sorry but you will just have to support her financially for another 2 years & then your obligations to your first family will be over & you can concentrate properly on your second family.
The "system" is to offer teenagers from less well off families encouragement to stay on in education. Not to allow the well off to stop supporting their children at 16:mad:0

I have not the words !!
Let me help you then1) EMA is not that great when it is only paid to some children. Even if we stayed living as a family unit I would not be able to offer my daughter £30 a week.?
Ah, but "YOU" would not be offering it would you, the state pays it. I stopped my daughters pocket money this week (shes just turned 20), I pay this. Are you saying that on a family income of £40,000 + you cannot afford to support her?2) Pay my mortgage - what are you talking about? If she wants to leave home then yes she will have to pay for her own accomodation where ever she stays.?
You want her to pay rent, read what you post.3) Slavery ??? !!!!!! ?
You wanted to get benefits/handouts for her in order to charge her rent & pay for the families second home. People might think you are sounding more like a "money grabbing landlord" than a "mother":rolleyes:0

Pay my mortgage - what are you talking about?
If you have a mortgage on a property and you have someone living in the property who pays you rent, then that person is contributing to the mortgage payments. What many of us are at a loss to understand is why you would charge your dependent daughter to live in her family home.
If she really doesn't want to move away from Surrey then perhaps it might be possible to find some kind of supported lodgings for her, perhaps with a family friend. YOU could then pay for this rather than support her whilst living with your own family. She could then have some kind of Saturday job that would pay her pocket money. You are responsible for keeping your 16 year old child, regardless of where the pair of you decide she should live!!0

That is incredibly offensive. I have not said anywhere that I will not support my daughter. If you dont have any comments about the topic then dont bother posting. Can you imagine how I might be feeling about what you have just said ?
 Didn't you?
My daughter has decided to look into leaving home. She has got some applications and can earn around £350 a month, which would have to cover rent, food, bills - everything in fact.
I was goin to rent her my house, as a flat share. She would have been left with about £180 after bills and rent if she had got got the EMA, obviously without the EMA she wont be able to do this.
Not only do you not want to support her, you say above if she can't afford to rent your house from you, she can't stay in your house.0
